Northwestern Class of 2018 Forum

I'm between U Chi and Northwestern. Vastly prefer Northwestern. My worst nightmare just occurred-- Chicago raised my scholarship and Northwestern held firm. Now I'm in the "it's stupid to pick Northwestern" range of cost of attendance.

Seriously shopping for same-day flights to Chicago right now. That's how hard I'm trying to talk myself into U Chicago (I didn't like it when I visited).

Whyyyyyy couldn't Northwestern have given me just a LITTLE more!

Yeah and I would show them the new UChi offer and explain why you want to be in Chicago and then say that you will basically accept their offer immediately if they can match/raise

That's exactly what I'm planning, I was just really looking forward to finally making a decision, like, today. Instead the threat of a double deposit is looming.

Re: accepting NU's offer, are the scholarship acceptance form and the deposit payment the only things to submit? Some schools I was considering requested other documents, but I am not seeing anything else for NU. Thanks!

On the "accepting our offer" admitted students page there's also a generic "Candidate Response Form" that it says you need to fill out!

Wasn't that the form they sent us when we were first accepted?

I'm not sure, but it's different from the Admitted Students Interest Survey if that's what you're referring to.

IDK i wasn't sure if it was the same or if I had already filled it out a couple months ago so I filled it out

Won't matter even if they do. You won't have to speak to them ever again after you matriculate.

Also now that the deadline is just a couple days away and I'm assuming a lot more people have their minds made up -- any ladies interested in sharing an apartment? I'd ideally like to get a 2-3 bedroom with 2-3 people to bring the price of rent down. Not set on any specific neighborhood, but would definitely like to be within a 10-15 minute commute if possible.
