There's also a ton of really good stuff in the burbs, which is often also reasonably priced. My favourite is this Chinese place called Full Key, in Wheaton. Go!

e: oh and an Italian place in Columbia heights called Maple. They have $4 wine happy hours and the wine is always really good. Also their paninis are amazing

go to el centro in georgetown for the $5 happy hour margaritas. best marg in town, and probably best salsa. 2 margs and you are drunk, 3 you need a wheelchair.

there are 2 el centro locations. the georgetown location rocks. imo bandolero is overrated.

also, agora brunch in east dupont. best brunch ever. blows the mind.

i had NO IDEA about el centro in georgetown. totally agree about bandalero. i may have to break my general ban of the georgetown neighborhood (it requires two very slow buses or one uber ride from my apartment) to try the el centro there.

btw, thanks to the group for getting me through an exceptionally painful afternoon at work.

i live and work about a 2-minute walk away from Wisconsin & M. Having done so for 3 years i assure you that, despite the trouble of getting out to georgetown, it's a great place for dining/drinking. it's snobbish reputation is deserved, but avoidable.

Glad I could help . My work blocked it so I'll have to find other ways to slack off. We got our last quarterly bonuses today, so any incentive to work is now gone.

Yup. Better payout than expected handed over begrudgingly by a boss who has watched me stoop lower and lower to avoid work. But absolutely that was the last incentive I was holding on to.

I just have to vent about how inconsiderate/dumb the people who I work with are? I just spent five minutes waiting to wash my apple while the lady in front of me washed all her dishes and struggled to use the automatic paper towel dispenser. You literally just put your hand in front of it. She tried to pull the towels out.

I take 30 minute lunches so I can leave earlier so five minutes is a big deal

Yep annual bonuses came out a few weeks ago. I told myself I wouldn't be a lazy employee because I was leaving but it's been tough to avoid.

I've got my time left at my job narrowed down to exactly 115 days, 5 hours, and 2 minutes as of writing this post.

It's gonna be a long summer.
