I called the financial aid office to make sure they had all my forms, and they told me my file was in the "final stage" and I should be hearing from them today (!) or tomorrow.

This (and the poster that received an email) implies that they might be sending out awards via email this year. That would be great. I hope that's what happens.

Actually I just got my award via email! They were the most generous out of CCN. PM for details.

Spoke to them again today and they said my award determination would likely be out Friday or early next week-ish. And I was calling because I only just got my forms in, so I imagine everyone else's will be out sooner!

In the interest of time, we are e-mailing you a copy of your financial aid award letter

So, I would assume they are probably emailing all of them.

Was there anyone from the Held to Admit group from last week who received named scholarships with their acceptance?

Not an answer to your question but I'll be withdrawing within the next week so a Butler (or equal funds) should hopefully open up for others.

I also called the Financial Aid Office to confirm that my file was complete. The person I spoke with said that I should be hearing from them this week, but when I asked, she said it would be sent via postal mail.

I'm really hoping that they'll continue emailing everyone their financial aid packages, especially with other scholarship deadlines fast approaching.

They did this with acceptances too, some via email some via mail (even those without named schollies). They have their own way of doing things and no one is going to convince them to change it.

Are all of you guys waiting on your Columbia fin aid packages before trying to negotiate at other schools? I've been trying to hold off because a couple of my other schools insist that you only make an appeal once, but I really don't want to be screwing myself out of negotiating opportunities by waiting for Columbia.
