Crap was there anything that was due other than Need Access for that date?Wahrheit wrote:Email finaid. It probably won't help that you missed the deadline but it also won't hurt to ask.FloridaCoastalorbust wrote:Forgot to fill out Need Access before yesterday's Chicago deadline. Oops.

I'll prob submit it late and not ask fin. aid about it. If I were a fin. aid officer and received a note about an exception to a deadline I'd probably award that person zero in merit/needWahrheit wrote:Email finaid. Just that. FAFSA is due by May 29.

Pretty sure that's post enrollment and all that jazz.Wahrheit wrote:Do we even have access to UCAPP? I was under the impression we get it once our individual login details get distributed. If I'm wrong about that I'd love to know.

I've only skimmed, but it looks like a program that is designed to make outcomes that are typical of MBAs available to people getting a JD...
Methinks it wiser to just go ahead and get the MBA, but I'd love to know if folks are seriously interested in this.

+1. Some aspects of it seem useful, but not at the expense of what looks like a commitment to a career more in business than in law.cc78 wrote:email from Dean Perry...yay!

But the second admittance wave that year was 2/25, while ours was 2/4. If they keep the same timetable, it would be this week. Just wishful thinking probably though.Mack.Hambleton wrote:FYI second ruby wave came on March 3rd last year and non ruby $ first came out in March 7th

I wouldn't say the Doctoroff program is necessarily about accessing MBA jobs but the goal is to recognize and teach the skills that overlap between business and law. I bet the vast majority of participants still end up in big law but they do so after having a hopefully interesting business experience 1L summer and bringing skills to their firm that are more useful than standard law school shit which is in no way practical. As you can probably guess I'm a big fan of the program and definitely would have done it if it were a thing for my class.
If you wanted to do something purely business then of course an MBA is better but this seems like a good use of time for law students who want some more practical coursework/internships than the standard theoretical academic circle jerk stuff.

+1. All but one of the doctoroff dudes in my class are going into big law / federal clerkships, and I imagine that is true across the program. It's just a different concentration, basically, that the typical student gets, but the majority of courses taken are available to all students and will be substantively the same when they are not as those available in other law school or booth classes. The only big committment you make is not to a career but to one or two specific classes and a business-focused internship your first summer.2014 wrote:I wouldn't say the Doctoroff program is necessarily about accessing MBA jobs but the goal is to recognize and teach the skills that overlap between business and law.
