Interested in big law. Open to litigation but would prefer transactional law. Would love to be in house one day, especially at a funded tech company (for example uber) Open to staying in Texas after graduation but I am from the west coast and would like to end up there eventually.
So for UT that is ~$154k per LST*, though this should be discounted appropriately for your ~30% chance of getting BL...personally, it'd have to be below $100k for me.
*average mean 101+ firms
Thanks, I really appreciate it! Shit I really need to look at that 30% chance then.

I wouldn't do it unless the goal is to be in TX long term
Technically not supposed to talk about that stuff in this thread. When you have all your options I suggest making a choosing thread in the choosing a law school subforum and you can get advice tailored to your exact situation.

Hey guys! I know the official policy is that you can only go to Texas once with a scholarship matching request, but I've gotten new acceptances/scholarships in the last week (and already used my match). Has anyone heard of people getting a second reconsideration? Also, does anyone know if Texas is okay with us depositing at multiple schools? Thank you!

1) No personal experience with requesting twice (BigZuck call in post), but the worst they can say is no.lalalalawyer wrote:Hey guys! 2) I double deposited last year, but check the language on their website (or email them if you're unsure). Some schools have adopted stricter policies regarding double depositing this year, and I'm unsure if UT is one of them.

There is at least one instance of this occurring historically. Not sure on the second question, but I haven't seen any of the harsh language coming from UT that other schools have used in regards to double depositing.lalalalawyer wrote:Hey guys! Re: double depositing, I haven't been able to find anything on the website or in my mailings with explicit language one way or the other, but based on the fact that there's a $200 deposit due in April and a letter of commitment isn't due until June, I'm pretty sure double deposits are okay. Obviously, best to ask the office, but I don't see anything disallowing it.

Re: Texas Class of 2018
I negotiated once through the matching program. Got a bump. Deposited at UT and only at UT. Got an unsolicited full ride at WUSTL in the summer (June or July) after letting that deposit deadline go by. Took that to UT and got a second bump.
So it has happened and I recommend pressing them as much as possible but I was probably a rather rare case (although I know others who did that with the WUSTL full ride as well).

Not sure how much help this will be, but financial aid told me that I could send in another letter (they didn't call it matching necessarily) at the end of the semester/early summer if I had any new information for why I should receive a bump. I don't know if you're willing to wait that long, but since I've decided on UT already (lease is signed!), I figure I'll give it a try come May if I have any new offers/info.lalalalawyer wrote:Hey guys! Sweet, thanks for the info. I'm waiting to hear back on $ from NU, but deposited at UT today and it's looking likely for me. I'll definitely give it a shot again in a bit, I guess it can't hurt.

For me, these show in My Shopping Sheet (under What Do I Need to Complete?) but not on the My Financial Aid page (where grants and loans are displayed)BrazilBandit wrote:Should merit awards show? ETA: from the sounds of it, upgrading to EID happens at orientation

Re: Texas Class of 2018
I upgraded my EID a few days before orientation. You'll do it when you get your ID card. I believe it has to be done in person, and is a requirement for getting living loans dispersed (might want to check into that, it's how it was for me if I'm remembering correctly).
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
