I've got a bit of a conundrum. I've recently been admitted to Harvard. However, due to a stupid oversight on my part missing the deadline to drop a course, I find myself at risk of failing one of my courses in my last term. Even if I fail this course, I'll still have all my requirements to graduate and my other marks will be consistent with the GPA that I used to apply with. My question is do you guys think failing a course in my last term will jeopardize my admission?

For a school with such an incredible endowment, it's crazy the hoops they make aid applicants jump through.

That said, good luck future 1Ls and I hope to see you at ASWs/in the fall!

No status checker update. From the JS2 wave in early February, eastern timezone.

Did anyone else receive an email with the subject "Legal Academia at Harvard"? I can't tell if its a mass email or a personal one so I don't know how to respond.

I didn't get that one, but I got one that says "Human Rights and Immigration Law at HLS" and a couple other interest specific ones. My guess is that they have a few of them and send them slightly personalized to people who expressed a certain interest through their PS or interview or something. I didn't think a response was expected, but maybe I'm wrong?

Thanks, it didn't seem like a response was expected but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't ignoring something too important.

How does one graduate summa cum laude if the highest grade one can get is 4, but u need a 4.75 average for summa?

Also, does HLS use a curve like SLS ?

No required published curve but there is a "recommended curve".

Not even close. I just decided to try to get all the info on the schools in my choice list. Randomly decided to start with grades. Next ability to take courses outside of law school.

As I'm dealing in the higher T14 - and what the hell I guess I will invoke the social protocol of invoking the fact that this Is first world of the first world problem - these things matter to me.

Beyond unicorn vs. Non unicorn decision and massive debt vs no debt, I'm assuming I'm asking common questions ? The right questions?

I guess I will make a seperate post.

I think, since we're just hearing about people on the east coast receiving them yesterday and today, that genuine worry is a little excessive. I would wait a while before asking.

Edit: Just realized your post was from yesterday like 3 hours after someone reported getting it haha, so yea, I wouldn't worry yet

FYI the keychain, for those wondering what it looks like. It's not quite a snuggie but it's still awesome and i'll take it!

And for those waiting, I'm sure your packets will come eventually - hopefully less crumpled than mine was, mailman had to roll it up to get it to fit in the mailbox
