Weren't you offered a Darrow? I'm surprised by this. Sorry.

Yup, so in trying to keep a positive outlook at least I have a nice alternative. I'm planning to try and negotiate with NYU but starting from zero seems pretty daunting.

Sorry about that
would you (/auxillo) mind sharing when your application for FA went into the final review stage?
Sure! I submitted NeedAccess on 2/18, went complete + final review on 2/22, and then heard back today.

I've also been in final review a comparable amount of time... not sure what it means. Did you apply for a named scholly?

okay then I really don't know what the timing means! I've been trying to convince myself I haven't heard because maybe I was in the running for a named scholarship (wishful thinking at its finest...).

Mine has just been regular "under review", not even final review, since 2/13

For everyone going to ASW, make sure to go out to dinner with student orgs on Thursday night after the Student Organization/Journal Fair! They'll take you somewhere fun and you'll be able to get candid answers on what life is like here.
(Disclaimer - I'm doing this with a couple of my student organizations so I obviously want people to take to dinner. Haha)

Don't be too daunted - a friend of mine negotiated from nothing to 10-10-5 in last year's cycle and he definitely didn't have a Darrow!

Anyone know how to go about appealing a scholarship decision? I did some internet searching but couldn't find anything as specific as, say, Chicago's (reproduced here):
We understand that financial considerations are often a significant factor for an admitted student in deciding which law school to attend. While we do not have a matching scholarship program, we are committed to mitigating financial concerns for those who are truly interested in studying law at UChicago and are happy to learn more about your circumstances. You may request a review of your financial aid package by emailing
financialaid@law.uchicago.edu. We will send you a link to an electronic form where you can provide additional information about your situation, including other scholarship offers that you are seriously considering. We will review these requests the week of April 20-24. Please note that we simply do not have the ability to adjust all scholarship awards, but we are still very interested in discussing your situation and alleviating your concerns.
Is it possible NYU wants us to do the same thing? I've heard from previous applicants that there's a form to fill out to apply, but since I haven't heard anything from NYU about that, maybe we have to email to get it like with Chicago?

I feel like I saw a "my appeal" tab on the financial aid site, I remember seeing a couple boxes to fill out. But when I check now, I don't see it. So either I am delusional or that is the normal method and something happened.

Assuming no one has heard either way about named scholarships at this point, right? Last Year Furman Public Policy invites went out March 11, and a few other named schollies the week before. I just sent an additional LOR that discusses my interests in the program I'm interested in, figuring the committees are meeting this week or next to read the applications -- crossing fingers it makes a difference.

Some named scholly finalist invites have been sent out. AnBryce for sure, I think RTK, and possibly Furman (not sure about Furman).

I think there's reason to think the RTK is rolling and that all calls haven't gone out.
