if it's too early to negotiate, are you just going to talk about tuition, col, etc when asking for a specific amount?

Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
I got the email as well. For my personal cycle so far, I already have my scholarship offers to the two main schools I'm interested in besides obviously Georgetown, and they were high enough offers that I'm going to be very surprised (I'm already surprised tbh) if negotiation helps me any with them. So should I go ahead and work that into the email reply that I send then?
I feel like my PS was already all about how Georgetown fit into my ideal or whatever, so I'm not going to send anything on that account. It's just the other part that I, like most of you, am perplexed about.
Also accepted in November, I believe.

Did anyone who was accepted in January (or I guess February) get the scholarship email? I'm hoping this round of emails was just for October/November admits

Got the scholly email. Admitted early-mid December. No FAFSA.
Also unsure about the length of these "tell us about fit/amount of $$$ that would make a difference". Does anyone know what TCR is for this?

Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
My guess is no longer than a paragraph. I would consider this as a time to be direct. To that point, I am wondering why people think that this is not the time to mention other scholarship offers. I have a lower T14 full ride that I'd like to mention to GULC to reinforce the level of scholarship that I'm seeking. I'm really eager to read why anyone would think that's a bad idea at this stage.lnick93 wrote:Got the scholly email. Admitted early-mid December. No FAFSA.

on second thought, I actually think it's fair enough - if you need them to match that to make it worth your while, just tell 'm so.cc78 wrote:My guess is no longer than a paragraph. I'm a splitter, kinda? 3.6x, 169.Gray wrote:So was anyone who got the email a splitter? Am I delusional to have expected something??
There must be a second round of emails, and I'm sure you can email and ask to be considered as well, esp if you have a good offer from another school.
Mine ended up being a few paragraphs long, since I never wrote a "Why Georgetown," and I made an argument about being public interest so needing $$.

FWIW:
I got a scholarship, and never got one of those feeler emails. So don't feel left out if you didn't get one.

I think this is the best advice for all scholarships: Wait as long as you can, things will start to look clearer financially to schools once it's closer to deposit deadlines.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
