Did you find that performance on MC exams differed greatly from performance on regular ones - like, were the same people getting great grades on one format and terrible grades on another? If not, it still seems like less work to get to the same place.A. Yeah, I think people could end up with different grades in different kinds of exams, though I also don't think it was inevitable.
And sure, MC is less work if you just give up and pick something. But no partial credit. So you usually don't want to do that.

Can confirm torts, as 100% law and econ, is absolutely outstanding. Maybe it's my accounting background or the professor himself.
(Sorry i'm a bit late to being called-in).

Our torts is definitely not law & economics. It's not even really law & philosophy. We mostly just ponder the rules, at a very slow pace, occasionally noting, as an aside really, how one can justify them by appeal to either economic efficiency or presence or absence of moral fault.

I overheard someone reference this. I hoped it was a joke.Gray wrote:yeah well it's part II of 3, part I was like what I'd describe as issue spotter multiple choice and part III is a 3 page fact patternaxel.foley wrote:??? This literally sounds like a high school examGray wrote:so my exam has quotes from opinions. The question is like (a) what case is this from (b) what was it about (c) what was its influence and there were four of those and the time allocated was 45 minutes out of the 3 hours. The model answers are like a page for each quote.
I guess if you just like prepare for that in your outline it will be okay maybe but that wasn't in other past exams so who knows. F minus for gray probably.

Are the quotes obvious as to what case they come from ? If so, I can probably join you in that F range. If not, what is below F?
Are we allowed to access the internet or our hard drives?

you probably already addressed this, but don't you have better things to do in class than write down what the prof says?Wahrheit wrote:quotes

Tbf to Wahrheit, the professor does have some of the best one liners I've heard a professor say.Kinky John wrote:you probably already addressed this, but don't you have better things to do in class than write down what the prof says?Wahrheit wrote:quotes

I feel like this is another huge plus to not having the internet in classrooms. We can do anything that doesn't involve the internet. Thank fuck.

Wahr, you should probably take down your pw. Don't want that floating around the internetz too long.

Any of your exams closed book? My torts exam is part MC from past bar exams and then issue spotter, type until your fingers bleed, fact patters.
LRW delivered this week. Pretty much everyone has stopped giving a shit and everyone is struggling with the open memo assignment (we get to discuss whether or not a dog groomer's negative employment covenant is enforceable or not - yay). We also got our research exam grades back today, which was pretty interesting.

Torts closed book exam here. Literally have no idea how I'm going to remember everything flying at me. Looked at a past exam, sat there, and was like "Well, I hope this is like the SAT apparently was cause I need 600 points for just signing my name." Then I remembered it's all anonymously graded, so I lost all hope of getting any number of points at all.unsweetened wrote:Any of your exams closed book? I feel that. I'm not worried about intentional torts, but it's going to be pretty shitty making sure all the neg doctrines and how they work together get memorized.rnoodles22 wrote:Torts closed book exam here.
