Yeah, and the professor was cool with it.
when it happened prof made a very big showing about walking over to the seating chart to mark it up, took a dramatic inhalation, and moved on
felt bad, but you get bored of seeing people tormented in the usual ways, viz. cold calling

With most of my class session online we do not have the same type of interaction. Instead each class will usually have one or two discussion questions which each student needs to answer. Once you submit your answer, then you gain access to see the answers from the other members of the group, and of these, for each question you must respond to at least one of the other students answers.
Since it unfolds more slowly the stress of immediate response is not there, but you do not get lucky and get to avoid being called out for any given class.

Tough to say whether the added work is worth the decreased chance of humiliation.

As opposed to being a computer program? Actually, that would be awesome and way better than my real life.

Well, there is still plenty of chances for humiliation, as the post are not editable, and the conversation goes on for days on any given question. But being a few hundred miles away from the person who is laughing at you for a boneheaded mistake takes a bit of the pain out of the equation.

What's hikko?
A very sad, unattractive shell of a human being. Even by law-school standards.
ETA: Also with spelling difficulties.

You should never trust a person who only has one way to spell a word...

My school has a variance from the ABA to allow half of our class hours to be online/distance learning, the other half is done in person in burst. My next residence period will be a seven day stretch kicking off in about three weeks.

I do it myself, but when I see other people, it looks kind of lame. Is it my associating this behavior with Harvey that makes it seem douchey, or is it really douchey?
I usually walk like that when I've got my headphones in or am wearing an outfit I know is on point. So I think the context matters, cause when I feel more confident about something I do it. That's why I usually think people who do it are pretty chill/confident, and I respect that. On the scale you mentioned, I don't get douche or lame vibes at all. I get more Denzel in Training Day kind of vibes instead.
Also, I have no idea who Harvey Specter is.
That is where our disconnect lies; I see Denzel in Training Day as an enormous douche. Harvey Specter is the rainmaker from Suits.

Murderer. Drug dealer. Extortionist. Philanderer (if memory serves). You're right. A douce might be able to return from the brink. Alonzo is evil. He is graded LRW - worth only 2 credits - evil.

Just got out of a midterm for Contracts. Went in with my 65% complete outline that was missing remedies. Half of the exam was remedies, so I had a dumptruck full of fluster unloaded on to me. Same thing happened to everyone else. Open note memo gets assigned tomorrow - something about covenants in Alabama (apparently they have laws). I guess this is the part of the year where I read a lot less thoroughly for classes.

Only 3.5 weeks of class left.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
