Looking forward to meeting all of you! Flying there tomorrow morning. I have no idea which events I'm going to attend yet.

No you won't. Access to Berkeley gyms are independent of the law school. Even as a law student we have to sign up and pay for access to the gyms. Granted it's like 10$ a semester or year, but for you guys visiting you won't have access.ZamboniTheGreat wrote:Anyone know if we have access to Berkeley's gym while here for ASW?

I ended up calling and for 12 dollars you can have access for a day. They are open 6-1.

You might ask if that pass gives you access to all of the gyms or just RSF. RSF ("Recreational Sports Facility" I think) is the main gym and it is humongous, but there actually aren't a lot of free weights if that's what you're going for. There is another gym located closer to the law school (basically at the football stadium), which I much prefer. It's much smaller, but because it is further away from the heart of campus not many people go there. Especially if you go in the morning it can be close to empty.ZamboniTheGreat wrote:ErgoSum wrote:Sucks :/ I was supposed to crush some squats today too :[YouGoGlenCoCo wrote:No you won't. I just checked out that smaller gym and got a little excited at the idea of working out there, but it seemed closed. Does it close before 7? I saw some power racks and platforms and got butterflies.YouGoGlenCoCo wrote:

Does the Recreational Sports Facility not have power racks? Bench? I was going to go right now, but if those are not there, then there is no point.

Likely not going to be able to make it up to ASW after all
Still hoping to visit in a few weeks, though. Have fun for me!

It should be open 6-11, but I only go in the morning. This is the webpage: http://recsports.berkeley.edu/facilitie ... ss-center/ErgoSum wrote:I just checked out that smaller gym and got a little excited at the idea of working out there, but it seemed closed. And now that I look through this webpage I see that it says, "Day Passes and Complimentary Passes are not accepted for entry." I apologize for getting anyone's hopes up but at least you'll have that to look forward to in the fall.

They do, just not as many as one would expect from such a large facilityZamboniTheGreat wrote:Does the Recreational Sports Facility not have power racks? Bench? I was going to go right now, but if those are not there, then there is no point.

New poster here
Accepted Dec. 2nd, excited for ASW and to meet errbody!
Does anyone know when the best time is to send the matching scholarship application? I've only heard back from one school for a scholarship, and am waiting on a couple more. Then again, I don't want them scholly funds to run out! What do you guys think?

I wasn't able to make it to ASW because of work. This thread is giving me the warm fuzzy Berkeley nostalgias. I hope you guys are having a great time! Post all about it!
Also: you can totally climb onto the ledge/roof of Doe library fyi. I highly recommend it after sundown, and whenever quidditch practices are happening.
