Could someone possibly post a copy of the financial aid questionnaire here as a .pdf? I don't have access to the form online -- I've already called and emailed the financial aid office about it, but they have yet to resolve the problem and the deadline is tomorrow (
) If you could do this, you'd be a total lifesaver.

Here's the direct link to the PDF, you shouldn't need admitted students credentials to access it. If this doesn't work, let me know and we can arrange something via PM.

Re: Columbia Class of 2018
also, can't stress enough how cool Metzger is and how she definitely wouldn't intentionally mortify the prospective students, you'll have to volunteer before putting your foot in your mouth in front of everybody. the only way you can really go wrong at ASW is wearing business formal or bringing your parents or saying something overtly racist/sexist. even then, every section needs at least one overtly racist/sexist student as an internal enemy for everybody else to unite against (a la Piggy from Lord of the Flies).scoobysnax wrote:Nope, they just ask for volunteers. No one actually keeps track of who shows up to mock class, let alone who talks during class.dlrkgml wrote:Is there a need to stress about the mock class at ASW? They just sent the next week ASWers an email about a supreme court decision we need to familiarize ourselves with. Panicking about cold calls and looking dumb already -what if Columbia rescinds its acceptance based on mock class performance,,
Edit: I have Metzger!
Regarding dress code, nobody cares or remembers what you wear. I wore jeans last year.
Main point: Do not stress about ASW! The school is trying to impress you now!

For anyone who submitted their financial aid documents by email: how did you encrypt the files in a way that they can still easily open them?

You shouldn't have any stress regarding any law school things atm, especially if you've already picked CLS as your school. You should be: (1) having fun; (2) enjoying yourself; (3) having a good time. Come, meet people, eat food, drink free alcohol, and that's it.dlrkgml wrote:Is there a need to stress about the mock class at ASW? Also, did the big package from Columbia have any information about ASW that isn't online? I still haven't received mine yet and will be going to the one next week so I wanted to double check.

Sorry if this is expressly written somewhere, but does anyone know when merit aid offers will go out to students that did not receive the Hamilton/Butler/etc.?

Sorry if this has come up elsewhere, but I can't really find it: How are people who are admitted to both CLS and NYU splitting up the three admitted student days? I was thinking of going to NYU for my afternoon on Thursday, but I also kind of wanted to check out that Tim Wu class....

In the same boat, and I don't think there's a great answer really. I ended up RSVPing to all of NYU's stuff on Thursday, and I'll get there when I get there I guess, since my priority is CLS.DK21 wrote:Sorry if this has come up elsewhere, but I can't really find it: How are people who are admitted to both CLS and NYU splitting up the three admitted student days? I too am prioritizing Columbia and I'm going to a 2:50 - 4:10 class. I was probably going to go to NYU from 5:30 on unless that's weird...DK21 wrote:Sorry if this has come up elsewhere, but I can't really find it: How are people who are admitted to both CLS and NYU splitting up the three admitted student days? Re: Columbia Class of 2018
Hey guys, I just got into Columbia at the end of February.
I just now stumbled across this thread and saw the March 1 deadlines.
Since none of those four things were done (fafsa, need access, FAO, etc.), does this mean I'm totally out in receiving need based aid?

Re: Columbia Class of 2018
Seems pretty unlikely, considering they have a lot more people to admit. I think the "deadline" is just so they don't have to process everyone's material at the same time, and can get started on the EDers and Jan/Feb admits before the later admits come in. I'd email or call them to ask though.Cradle6 wrote:Hey guys, I just got into Columbia at the end of February.

Checking in!! In via snail mail last night. Excited to have options in NYC!
Also the admitted students page says that the deadline for financial aid info is March 1st or "immediately upon admission." If us newbies send in the information in the next couple of days, I think we'll be fine.

I'm doing the late March ASW for Columbia and the April ASW for NYU. Hopefully I don't fall in love in March and then again in April.
