Have people been receiving scholarship offers from Berkeley yet?

Don't see any on LSN, but I am wondering if I should submit the scholarship match form or wait to see what I get offered.

A current student I know told me it's best to submit the scholarship match forms sooner rather than later because they run out of money quickly. Not sure how early that happens but worth considering

I think scholarships are going to come out around ASW? I think I heard that. I'd hold off on submitting a matching application unless you have a full ride somewhere you want them to match, though. What if they were originally going to offer you more than what you're asking them to match? You lose leverage.

Yeah, I agree with this. If you have a full rid or full ride+, go ahead and submit.

Can't remember where I got this date from, but I've been operating under the impression that they start handing out regular scholarship decisions around March 15 and continue to do so through mid-April

According to this thread (http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2&t=238318) the first matching scholarships came out on March 20 and non-matching came out on March 27.

Woo! It would be fabulous if Berkeley continued being the one school who's not behind on their timeline

Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster. Does anyone have any insight into the best method for successfully getting a matching scholarship?

I got a Charles Evans Hughes (full-ride) at Cornell, and a Dean's Scholarship at NYU (75k total) so far. Still waiting on Penn and Duke. Is there any consensus on whether it's better to submit a higher offer or a lower offer from a better school? Since they only let you submit one scholly for matching, I definitely don't want to screw this up.

A related scholarship question... I'm still waiting to hear back from one school, just on the off chance that I get a scholarship I could leverage. But I haven't even gotten in yet, much less gotten a scholarship. I'm wondering at what point it hurts more to keep waiting to hear back from them, rather than submit the other offers I already have.

Hey Everyone,

I'm a 1L at Berkeley right now, and I remember last year being incredibly confused and uncertain about the entire process. At that time in my admission cycle one or two current students reached out on my year's message board to offer help and it was through those interactions that I made my decision on where to go/how to find living (very, very difficult in Berkeley)/how to get involved/how to be a productive member of the campus community without sacrificing grades.

With that in mind I thought it would be only right for me to extend the same offer to you folks. I have not gone through this thread (yes, I know that's a cardinal sin in forum-world), so I don't know what concerns people have or what questions are floating around. If anyone would like to get in contact with me, feel free to PM me and I'll give you my personal email. In addition, if anyone is going to be in town for ASW this weekend and want to meet/talk/get a drink/cry about not getting into Yale, I am more than willing to be there for you guys.

Good luck with everything.

Have fun at ASW everyone! I'm unfortunately not going to make it, but I'm really excited for Berkeley!
