Just finished a midterm for civ pro. Got about 9000 words out in 1hr of test/reading time.

I don't recall any wrong answers at the end of class. I must have zoned out too. It is easy to do at that point - and not too detrimental - since he gives a thorough recap at the beginning of next class!

How many of you have graded midterms? What schools are those from? I have only heard of one that does that (hint: It recently added a W to its name)

Not here. But we do get a full set of grades at the end of the semester, which is a new thing here

Ate pizza with a Federal Judge today and learned about how awesome it is to clerk.

i never did the math, that does seem like a lot. The word counter showed 89xx when I heard the 5 min warning. Not trying to claim I beat a world record at all (definitely didn't)... the word courter was probably screwed up

ETA: I get a printed copy of it soon, so i'll report back to see whats up

Does anyone have any good 1L stories to share so far? Maybe it is too early in the year. From my experience, the 1L year, as far as good or crazy stories goes, was actually pretty laid back compared to 2L and 3L. The latter years are when good hooking up stories happened, people were arrested, people were seriously injured, ect.

Maybe the most exciting "story" was the plagiarism notice that was posted on the law school disciplinary board just after the final paper for LRW. People spent most of Xmas break trying to figure out who the student was that was being investigated.

One of our guys drunkenly and accidentally locked himself on his balcony, so he decided to punch through the glass door to get back in. Used his writing hand. Severed a big blood vessel in his wrist and tore a tendon. Now he's stuck with a cast and virtually no use of that hand till it heals.

No crazy hookup stories between 1L's. Everyone seems to be shopping outside the section.

That is a tough call. Try to scale the down the building while risking a broken ankle/death, or punch the glass resulting in almost certain injury. I like the high-risk, high-return option of balcony jumping. Although, then you have to worry about getting in the front door...Way too much to think about when drunk.
