Section 3 = Curriculum B (only B section)zacharus85 wrote:Welcome to GULC!Hand wrote:WHY LORD WHY so confusingzacharus85 wrote:There are definitely sections 3 and 7. I seem to recall meeting/hearing about sections 1,2, and 4.
Pretty sure there is no section 6.
Section 6 = Transfer Students, but not really relevant since after year one, only used for admin purposes
Section 7 = PT (like me, pm if you have questions!)
Also, someone asked earlier what PT students think about Curriculum B. Curriculum B is only available in the full time program, so we don't choose.

Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
just submitted my blue application, and I have some questions hopefully someone ITT can answer:
Do we need to complete a Grad Plus and Federal Stafford loan application on studentloans.gov in addition to counseling?
What is the deal with these promissory notes? Do we need to worry about this?
Can the loan amounts we are eligible to receive be modified prior to disbursement? As in, if I am eligible for $30,000 in Staff loans, but only need $15,000, can I reduce the amount distributed before disbursement. This is how it worked at my undergrad, wondering about the process at GULC.

Re: Georgetown Law Class of 2018
So is the blue application how we officially adjust our loan amounts? Or do we accept/ adjust our loans on myaccess or elsewhere? Because I really would like to decrease the amount of grad PLUS loans I'm taking out...

Thanks Gray!Gray wrote:https://www.law.georgetown.edu/admissio ... New-JD.cfmkray wrote:(what is the blue application?)
ETA. scroll down to the bottom. Also click "Complete Loan Documents" - the steps there are more specific than what's on myAccess.
They definitely make this as complicated as possible.

I did them like a month ago and it's still showing as "requested."
Have any of you seen a change there?

There are also a few steps that GULC just never tells you about. If you're borrowing GradPLUS, you have to actually apply for it through the student loans site. I didn't notice that until just now when I was doing my MPNs.

One thing to consider that I wish someone had told me: you can return any disbursed money from Stafford or GradPLUS within 120 days for no penalty. They reduce your loans by the returned amount and also reduce your fees proportionately. It's as if you never took that out in the first place. Nobody at Georgetown ever mentioned this, but I was able to do it through my loan servicer without issue.

Also, per the discussion a page or so ago, they also don't appear to be in a hurry to, you know, confirm that you've submitted your stuff, so I wouldn't worry about it right nowHand wrote:When they don't say you can't the answer is "yes" I'm pretty surebuckiguy_sucks wrote:Can I just put all this off until like mid June
