youll def get lol'd at for bringing parents to ASWs. but if that doesnt bother you then go for it.

I'm bringing my SO to a couple of the ASWs that worked for his schedule. Obviously I'm not going to tote him around to the sessions (unless they explicitly say bring a guest - I kniw there is one that UVA says is fine and UMich is very open to guests) but I thought it was important for him to get a feel of the place we might live in for the next three years.

I think bringing a parent is a little trickier. I don't think I would feel comfortable bringing my parents (but then again, I'm financially independent so don't really need their opinion) but to each his own, I suppose.

I'm really struggling to find viable apartments. I have a cat, a fiance, and won't have a car I can use daily. I'm trying to keep the walk to under a mile, but basically the only apartment complexes that accept cats are the Pavillion (a bit too rich for my blood and not good move in dates for me) and the Jeffersonian (already a waitlist).

How have people fared using Craigslist to find a place? I've never even been to the area, so any advice on locations that would work or wouldnt (i.e. avoid central campus or by the stadium) would be very much appreciated. Are most of the housing apartment complexes, or are there a bunch of smaller places that you'd find on Craigslist?

I didnt think finding a place to live would be this difficult. The need for a "pet friendly" location is really limiting my options!

Oh my lord that looks amazing. Um, yes??

 well obviously. that's how these arrangements usually work, right? but seriously, I am obsessed with that apartment. it's also super close to the downtown mall, which is my other charlottesville housing-related fantasy. if you'd actually be open to that roommate configuration, I'm down to at least check it out.

smile, have you looked into the bus system? the law school website says that there are buses every ten minutes to main grounds/other places in that area, so I would check that out if you're just looking for more options. also I think the buses are free. but I've never used them/lived in charlottesville, so I don't know how good/reliable they are. may want to ask in the UVA questions thread?

There are a number of apartments/condos on Arlington that allow cats. I believe they usually post them on Craigslist. Jeffersonian is hard to get unless you applied on January 1, and Pavilion is not worth the money. You should be able to find something on Arlington that allows pets.

Does anyone know how easy it is for 1Ls to get a guaranteed parking spot in one of the garages? Im planning on living like 10 min from campus but the buses don't run to the place I'm looking at so I don't wanna live there if I'm gonna have a hard time finding parking every day.

I think they just have a lot, not a garage. not sure if it's assigned or not, but I don't think so. looks like it's easy for 1Ls to get a pass as long as you don't live too close to campus (10 minutes should be fine) http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... g#p7570978

Hi all. If anyone is set on UVA already, I have a 2 bedroom with den in the Jeffersonian, lease starting July 1 and I'm looking for a roommate. No pets. I will be a female 1L in the fall. PM me for more info if you're interested. Looking forward to meeting you all at ASW!

Anyone going to ASW happen to be flying into Cville on Thursday on the 2pm arrival from New York and want to share a ride to the law school?

Or, any generous soul (who will be compensated for their trouble!) willing to run to the airport to pick up a fellow TLSer?

PM me and many thanks!

Hello everyone! Congrats on U.Va it's a fun place. Cville is the best.

I will be a female 2L in the fall and I live in the townhomes across from the pavilion. http://woodardproperties.com/real-estat ... gton-blvd/ I have the best dog and cat, and I am not exaggerating. If you're looking for a place, then let me know!

I have taken the plunge on a 2br/1.5 bath condo right near the law school and am considering a roommate for this fall. $500/mo + utilities (electric/internet) and the lease starts at the beginning of August. I am an incoming female 1L who keeps a very clean space, loves to cook, and always has music going. Send me a message if you'd be interested!

Where are you from? Would you rather work in the Midwest or the Southeast/Mid-Atlantic?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
