Mine's a German Shepherd/Lab mix (we think). He's also on the smaller side ~65 lbs. Think that will be an issue?
I just checked my lease and there is no breed specific ban (Shoreland), but that doesn't mean they would let you have a german shepard here-they might say no at the point that you try to register the dog (you have to register the dog with them); you will want to call wherever you are considering a lease to ask them since german shepards are usually in the category of banned breeds.

Even if you aren't much for Facebook (uncertainly not; I made one just for LS), jump on the UChicago c/o 2018 page; I started a big "when are you moving" think and lots of people have posted there.

A few of us will be there SUPER early, so there will definitely be people to meet when you arrive!

ETA: Weather alerts: seriously. I got four emails telling me to hide under my school desk in a 5 minute period.
