Should I just go ahead and imply that if UChicago increases my award, that would make my decision much easier, while being as polite as possible? But I can't figure out a convincing reason that I may choose NYU over UChicago with the same amount of scholarship money.

Asking for advice because I don't wanna be rude.
Just say something like 'UC is my top choice, but due to financial reasons' - they don't have to know what the actual reasons are - 'I'm at this time inclined to accept NYU's offer. If your office is willing to provide a bit more aid, I will be able to enroll'

shit's vague but i've had loads of success w/ similar reasoning.

My appeal was granted, but it didn't meet what I was hoping to receive. I withdrew, and hope the $$ goes to a fellow TLSer!

I had already committed to Penn because Chicago had missed their deadline, but my appeal was denied. For posterity 173/3.96 75k.

Withdrew and put some $$$ back into the pot. It was by far the hardest decision of my cycle and one I'm still ambivalent about. :| Really hope it goes to one of you. Kill it in Chicago, friends!

Shitty map of shoreland for those interested, since Mac seems to think it's some sort of secret.

Having played a significant amount of Pictionary with Rob, I have to say this is not half bad.

If you get what's now apartment # 502 -- used to be 508 -- you can sleep easy knowing that I smoked the shit out of that room back when the Shoreland was a dorm. Presumably all the carpet stains are gone by now!

...so yea, maybe avoid that one. But TBH that happened in pretty much all those rooms.

Since you're familiar with his drawing abilities, can you decode what's next to the word "lake" at the bottom? Reads like a C with a dot in the middle to me.

Symbol for road, together symbolizing Lake Shore Dr is my guess
