Sounds like my experience with Penn.Mack.Hambleton wrote:Trying to negotiate before my penn deadline tomorrow

Called again today, said they were out of the office again and said they would call. Didn't call
Also left voicemail yesterday to a guy I had talked to previously and haven't heard anything,

I was also trying to negotiate before Penn's deadline. I tried calling earlier today but wasn't able to reach anyone either. I emailed the main Financial Aid address and the person who responded told me they were currently reviewing appeals but she couldn't say whether she thought I would get a response before tomorrow.Mack.Hambleton wrote:Trying to negotiate before my penn deadline tomorrow

I'm definitely disappointed that they couldn't get back to me in time for today's deadline at Penn seeing as I also submitted by appeal a month ago. I ended up withdrawing at Penn, but best of luck at Penn if that's where you're headed!Mack.Hambleton wrote:Called fin aid today and said I was still under review or whatever, even though I gave them like a month of warning so gonna withdraw

Totally bummed that oregon didn't announce this in advance of ASW. Would have wanted to hear Chicago's plan for the future without Dean Schill--who has done a phenomenal job as dean.
Has anyone else committed recently? Other than myself and PariSiamo, who all is headed to Chicago?
I was bummed too, but i've talked to a lot of people who don't think it's a huge deal. A lot of Dean Schill's projects have already put been put in place/came with a ton of faculty support anyway.ThePinkRanger wrote:Whoa. Did you guys see that Dean Schill is out?

Yes most deanships are just stepping stones to better positions e.g. presidencies.everything_bagel wrote:I was bummed too, but i've talked to a lot of people who don't think it's a huge deal. Maybe they will bring in someone similarly cool; it's a plush spot.ThePinkRanger wrote:Whoa. Did you guys see that Dean Schill is out?

Sort of. Northwestern gave me a perfectly great offer, but stopped short of making it rain. I'm hoping for bumps from both, although IDK.FloridaCoastalorbust wrote:northwestern made it rain re:scholly money so i don't think i'll be headed to UC. anyone else in this position?

There's a scholarship reconsideration form you submit, and they require you to upload a copy of the other school's scholarship offer.Cradle6 wrote:.
Right - but do schools know if you withdrawn from a different school? I know they can see where you put deposits after May 15th or something like that, but not sure if they can see if/when you withdrawn from other schools...Mal Reynolds wrote:We're not on the same page in the sense that you don't understand at all. If you're already withdrawn from the school youre shit out of luck-you cant use that as a bargaining chip anymore. Also they likely read this thread so you're plan is probably done for.
