Hi all.
I am a rising 3L beginning to think about C&F. The other night I pulled up my law school application, and saw that I slightly embellished a couple items on the resume appended to my law school app. It's nothing major -- the employers, job titles, and dates of employment are all accurate.
But in one of the bullet points under one of my positions, I wrote that I "worked to implement [a project]," even though this initiative was more of a side-project that my employer barely knew about, and it was ultimately never implemented. (It was a tech job and I took it upon myself to streamline/automate things I thought were being done inefficiently.) I was working to implement the project when I submitted my law school app, but I did not ultimately finish the project before leaving the organization. One of my supervisors knew about it, but he is no longer at the organization. The "head honcho" of the operation is still there, and I plan on using him as a contact. But if he was asked about this project I'm not sure if he'd know what they were talking about.
In another bullet point, I described a change I spearheaded and emphasized that it saved hundreds of labor hours. It definitely saved labor hours but I have no way of quantifying if it truly saved "hundreds"
I've been freaking out a little because I worry the bar could perceive these as misrepresentations compelling denial of my bar app. But I'm not even sure if the C&F investigators would get that granular when contacting past employers. I'm in a big market (think NYC/DC/CA). Do you guys think this could pose an issue to my bar admission? Or is the C&F process more geared toward verifying that I actually worked at these places rather than ascertaining the precise contours of my roles? If this is something that could pose an issue, what should I do? Retain a C&F attorney? Tell my law school?

Relax. Nothing you described sounds like an issue. Unless you lied about dates or anything else that can be verified, this doesn't matter. Nobody cares or will ever check you on those types if details. They will check that you worked at the place, but just dates of employment and job title.
Going forward, if you don't think you can back yourself up in an interview, don't put it on the resume. But again, it's not a C&F issue..

I don't know for sure, but I would not expect them to get into the accuracy of bullet points. I am sure you realize now that is not good to put things on your resume which could pose an issue when an employer is checking your references or doing a background check.
