Test Anxiety, Study Strategies, Full time job

Post by studybug2020 » Tue Dec 24, 2019 1:34 pm

I suffer from really bad test anxiety (worry, sleepless nights, crying, dry heaving, nightmares, shaking, etc!). This happened the first time I sat for the bar, but it was 2x worse the second time, b/c I kept replaying in my head, what if I just never pass it. So needles to say it was horrible. But by God's grace I passed the exam, I honestly think he performed a miracle, b/c some of my essays were only a paragraph long. I am not taking the UBE years later. I thought all of that anxiety was behind me, but no, it is not. I am only working part time, b/c I know I can't study if working full time. I thought since i have so much time to study I could be one of those people who only studies for 8 hrs a day and takes the weekends off. This is NOT the case. On my days off I spent 12-14 hours studying and still don't achieve my goals for the day (40 mbe questions, and 1-2 essays or 1 mpt). I know there are people out there who only study part time and still pass. How do you do it? I don't want to spend all day suffering when I can be like the people who study with a full time job.
