I graduated law school back in 2012 and had a decent job while in/after law school and therefore never really needed to take the bar. I originally studied to take the July 2012 bar then backed out b/c I wasn't ready. The scenario kept happening until I mustered the courage/time to study and took the NY bar in 2015 and failed by like 5 points. I never took it again and it has been one of the biggest regrets.
I still work full-time and won't be able to take off months to prepare for the bar so I'm trying to start early. I honestly don't know where to start as I have literally forgot everything that I studied in law school. I was contemplating taking Themis again (repeat rate of $799) or Barbri (repeat rate of $3000 - ridiculous!). Through my studies, I have a lot of the outlines already drawn up, but I don't know whether it's better that I repeat the course and redo everything from square one. I don't know if my outlines are complete since I'm sure the law has changed.
Would you recommend that I repeat a bar prep course? I'm inclined not to take Themis/Barbri again b/c I didn't really mesh. I was contemplating spending extra to do one-on-one tutoring, but don't know which company is reputable.
Please advise. Thanks.

Take the Themis retaker course and get a copy of Emanuel’s 2016 Strategies and Tactics Volume I 6th EditionLawTweet wrote:Just take the course that highest pass rate for NY.
I assume you are NY based on the prior post. If you took the exam in 2015, that means your final score was a 661. This means your essays were re-graded. In my experience, examinees whose essays are regraded usually pass. Accordingly, for some reason the regrader did not give you enough credit on your essay and/or MPT answers to give you the extra few points you needed to pass. So you should put a little more focus into the written to understand what the graders are looking for.
Also, while this is little consolation, in a October 2006 study by the New York State Board of Law Examiners on the impact of the increase in the passing score on the New York Bar Examination, the report examined 102 domestic-educated candidates who were first-time takers of the New York bar exam in July 2005 who failed with scores between 660 and 665. At the Board's request, the NCBE tracked their performance. 87 of those candidates re-took the exam, in February and/or July 2006, with 79 of the 87 passing, leaving eight of these candidates who did not pass as of July 2006 (15 candidates in this group had not repeated the New York bar exam as of July 2006). Therefore, if you can put in the same amount of time of studying for the upcoming exam as you did the last exam, the odds of passing are heavily in your favor.
