Medication during the Bar?

Post by carsondalywashere » Tue Jul 23, 2019 4:09 pm

I am taking the bar next week. I take medication for my ADHD which is prescribed by my doctor. I realize the deadline for submitting a doctor's note to take my medication has passed. I did not submit a note partly because I thought it would be a hassle to have to raise my hand for a proctor to come up and give me my medication.

Is it going to be an issue if I take my medication at my seat while taking the bar? Is this something they would kick me out for? If so, should I try to see if they will allow me to submit a doctor note this late in the game?

What state is it? The web page/instructions should list what you’re allowed to bring into the exam with you. I know some states only allow you to bring in medications that have been pre-approved. If that’s the case for your state, no, you won’t be able to take the medicine at your seat, because you won’t be allowed to bring it into the room with you - unapproved meds are prohibited. You’ll have to either get rid of it before you go in or not sit the exam. Some states don’t make you get preapproval and let you bring in Rx meds as long as you remove all packaging, but it sounds like there’s some kind of preapproval for your state which is likely to be a problem.

You can try to get approval now but I suspect that may not go well.

Short answer: look at the prohibited items list for your state.
