I started BarMax in August and now just finished 4 subjects as of today (CivPro, Crimes, Contracts, Constitutional Law). I've been taking too long because I write my own outlines as well, but I'm planning to just listen to lectures now and read through the outlines, flashcards, and MBE. I'm seriously thinking of signing up for Kaplan that starts 12/17 to 2/9. I work full-time but my co-workers are aware and supportive. We all agree this is not something I would want to do again.
There will be classes from 6-10:30pm during the week (not daily).
The lectures and flashcards for Bar Max are decreasing in value as I progress (CivPro was impressive but I'm now feeling there is not much I'm getting from them).
Thoughts?

Re: BarMax then Kaplan
I don't think there's anything wrong with Kaplan, but I found the lectures to be the least efficient use of my time when I prepped (passed on first try with Themis, which I think is pretty comparable to Kaplan and Barbri). Writing my own outlines was grueling and time consuming, but I think it was very effective use of my time.
I'm taking the bar in February for a different state, was thinking about getting BarMax for the MBE question set, how do you like it?

Re: BarMax then Kaplan
Their MBE is good, real NCBE questions, and most have explanations on why the right answer is the right answer, and and also explanations on answers closest to the correct answer but is wrong. Some contracts question don’t have explanations, and the reason they gave is that because they are newer questions and I guess they haven’t drafted the explanations yet.

Personally, I think Kaplan puts out a good program and provided there really isn't much reason not to take it (financial, etc.) I think you should go ahead and do it. I can't imagine it will in any way negatively effect your chances of passing the exam, and will very likely improve them.
