I took the New York (UBE) bar in February and am waiting on results but for various reasons, am considering taking the Virginia bar this summer. I am trying to figure out how much, if any, lighter my studying will be since I already studied for a UBE. I have spoken to Barbri and know that Virginia tests many more essay topics and their MBE coverage includes many VA nuances.
I was just curious if there was anyone on here who has actually taken both and could provide some anecdotal feedback on how they compared and how studying for one may have helped with the other. Thanks.
Has anhone taken a UBE exam and THEN the Virginia bar? Forum

Re: Has anhone taken a UBE exam and THEN the Virginia bar?
I understood that Virginia bar was much harder for me as I scored lower in essays than MBE. And essays were weigted at 60% vs 40%.
PLUS men have to wear a suit while taking the exam,

VA is a beast. EVERYONE, not just men, have to be dressed in court room attire. You have to know 26 subjects for VA, and even then they will test you an RANDOM BS. I have taken DC, which is UBE, and VA. My husband told me that when he took Feb 2018 VA Bar, they tested employment law which was not one of the topics listed.
It can be done, it's just a difficult exam.
