Re: 2017 DC Bar - July Edition - THE STRUGGLE IS REAL BUT HEY HERE'S A POLL FOR YOU
February dates for me, too.
Just called the Committee phone number and was asked to be put on hold. Said "sure" because what else are you supposed to say. Stayed on hold for 9 minutes before giving up.

I called last week to ask when the results will come out. I asked can it come out at the end of October I was told it's possible. Then I further asked can it be the beggining of November. The response was "those are all possibilities."

I applied for admission via motion.
My file went from the NCBE C&F step (the longest part) to step 4 "certification review" on either October 4 or 5 (I am not sure exactly because I wasn't informed of the change in status but I checked out of boredom on nearly a daily basis) and I just received my congratulatory email a few minutes ago. So it took approximately 2 weeks for them to work through step 4.
I was provided January 5, 2018 and February 5, 2015 as dates to be sworn into the bar.
Entire process to certification went from May 3, 2017 to October 18, 2017.

As for the email, the one I got yesterday was the only email I can remember after any initial email starting the process. When it started the NCBE processor, or once the NCBE report was done I never received an update, it was just my neurotic checking of my profile online.

Does anyone know if the Committee releases exam results while applicants are still pending for C&F? If not, it makes me doubt that we'll have results this week.Hoosier2 wrote:ConfusedL1 wrote:Anyone else still on #3?notlegaladvice wrote:I'm on "4. Re: 2017 DC Bar - July Edition - THE STRUGGLE IS REAL BUT HEY HERE'S A POLL FOR YOU
Are we the first administration to apply through this online portal (i.e., the first group to be able to track the C&F progress online)?

They can release UBE results prior to the character and fitness being approved.

I really can't speak specifically to DC, but I can tell you in both Michigan and Illinois I received my results prior to my C&F being completed or certified. In Michigan I received "unofficial" results, which meant my score sheet came on different color paper but was otherwise identical. Once C&F was done I was provided the "official" results.ConfusedL1 wrote:Sweet. How do you know that?PoliLaw wrote:They can release UBE results prior to the character and fitness being approved.
In Illinois you never receive scores if you pass, but I did receive my email notifying me that I had passed and was awaiting C&F approval.
C&F in I think every jurisdiction is a wholly separate process and group from those grading and releasing the exam scores.

I called and asked, " Can the results of the exam precede ones character and fitness being approved? The gentlemen said, "yes happens that way often". Also asked would the results be out by the end of this month and he said, "not sure but we hope so"

We are the first administration with the online portal. My spouse sat for the exam in Feb 2017 and did not use this portal.

Last week when I called, I was informed that they will try their best to release it by October 27, Friday.

For those of you who called -- how did you end up getting through? I've tried a few times and they just put me on hold and never answer.
