Rule Against Perpetuities on the MBE
Anyone have any advice as to how to answer RAP questions correctly? I've answered probably 5 or 6 in Adaptibar and I've gotten them wrong each time. Any advice is much appreciated.

My advice is to cut your losses and move on. The time spent trying to learn RAP is not worth the number of MBE questions you'd get on it. You'd be better off studying literally anything else.

Going into it, that's what I was planning on doing. But now that each of the MBEs are worth more since 25 aren't being graded, I'm trying to score whatever points I can.

Reading the wikipedia entry (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_against_perpetuities) if you haven't already may be helpful.

Wait what? When did this change I thought 190 of the 200 were graded and just 10 were "test questions?" If you have time can you provide a link with this new information?

Unfortunately they changed it from 10-25 with the upcoming exam. Here are a couple of links:

Thank you so much I had no idea, and have no idea how I missed the change. Admittedly this kind of ruined my day because the MBE is not my friend. So here is to hoping the 25 they don't grade/count are 25 I got wrong!CalBar3Day wrote:Unfortunately they changed it from 10-25 with the upcoming exam. Here are a couple of links:

Sorry to have been the bearer of bad news. MBEs aren't my strong suit either so when I read that article, I knew I had to put in a little more practice and also attempt to correct areas that I struggle with. Good luck with your studies!

NCBE is also adding some new property topics to this MBE. Make sure you're working off a NEW property outline, if possible. As mentioned, each question will have a higher value now that only 175 questions are graded.

I could be wrong but I don't think RAP was on the July exam and if it was it wasn't worth going crazy learning it
I suggest not focusing too much on granular black letter law and instead focusing on learning bar exam. Do a couple thousand practice questions and you'll know what I mean.

You honestly may, with no guarantee, get 1 question on it. My bet is 0. Put your RAP study time into mortgages, deeds, easements and recording.
