If MBE were still 40% or something, I'd be more confident. MBE at 50%? Not confident at all. Could go either way.

Re: So, Do You Think You Passed the Bar?
Your gut instinct is usually correct:
February 2014 (New York)- as soon as I saw the MBE's, I knew that it was over
July 2014 (New York)- I left Javits and I thought that I failed. I was kinda in denial- I asked another test taker if they spotted a specific issue on one of the essays and they said yes. I had a sliver of hope...and then I received that email in November. One of the worst days of my life...
February 2015 (New Jersey)- I freaked out when I saw the MBE's. To make matters worse, this was the first time civ pro was included. The civ pro questions were MUCH harder than the practice questions released by the NCBE. I basically went through the motions on essay day. I received the results in May and although I flunked, I came closer to passing than I thought
July 2015 (New Jersey)- I struggled a little on MBE day. I did ok in torts, crim, con law, and evidence. I got massacred in property, contracts, and civ pro. However, when I prepared for the MBE, I factored that in. My strategy was to get 60% of the MBE's correct. On essay day, I felt confident in 5 out of the 7 essays that I completed. The torts and crim essays were ridiculously easy. After I left the Meadowlands Exposition Center, I was cautiously optimistic that I passed. And on November 5, 2015, I became a lawyer.

Re: So, Do You Think You Passed the Bar?
My gut tells me that I have a decent shot of passing, but I'm not sure if that's my actual feeling or just my having internalized everyone telling me they're confident I passed and the fact that I don't for sure know that I bombed. But I definitely feel like I guessed on over 100 questions yesterday between morning and afternoon. Maybe I'm exaggerating.
Either way, I'll be ecstatic if I passed, but also preparing myself for the worst.
I seriously hope if I'm forced to retake that studying again won't be as hellish as it was the first time. Can definitely skip like 60 hours of worthless lectures.

Na
I had to hand write my essays and they were garbage cause my hand writing looks like a child's and I can only write half as fast as I can type and was practically illegible cause I had to write so fast
Couldn't get hardly any analysis in
Was hoping mbe would save, and was expecting about a 150, but I seriously doubt I came close to 70% /190 on that cluster fuck

Worst mistake ever was listening to 100 hrs of lectures. Should've just read the giant outline and slimmed it to a manageable outline and memorized the shit out of it.SLS_AMG wrote:My gut tells me that I have a decent shot of passing, but I'm not sure if that's my actual feeling or just my having internalized everyone telling me they're confident I passed and the fact that I don't for sure know that I bombed. I honestly think like 50/50. It's gonna be close either way.

Seems like the large majority of us are in that boat. It will be interesting to see how the curve and equalization work out.Monochromatic Oeuvre wrote:I honestly think like 50/50. It's gonna be close either way.
BTW, somebody posted this somewhere on TLS (sorry, I forget where):

Looking at that July MBE downtrend, if you extrapolate at the rate of the last 3 years or so, it'll probably be worse this time than February 2011, which probably had a lot of repeaters.
Maybe if a lot of questions get tossed, this MBE will reverse the trend (or else accelerate it downward in a nosedive).

I'm about 75% sure I passed based on pass rate data and others reactions to the exam.

Biggest mistake I've made in a long time. I totally bought into the program's: it's a minimal competency exam, you only need a D to pass. LOL.0lol wrote:shoulda outlined the CMR in the first couple weeks

I don't feel like I failed. But I'm not confident I passed. Weird limbo feeling.

70% chance I passed, IMO. Wish I could say my chances were better. It'll be a long 2 months.

Re: So, Do You Think You Passed the Bar?
I feel like I could be embarrassing myself here, but, I didn't feel less confident about the Bar Exam than I felt on any of BarBri's practice tests or anything. I still felt like I narrowed the answers down to 2 frequently, guessed on more than I would have liked to, etc.
But, that's how I felt on BarBri's stuff too, and I passed those (if only by slim, sad margins).
I know everyone is saying they feel like they were super unprepared, and I guess I don't really feel that way, because I felt about as prepared for the exam as I felt for all of the prep work.
Also, maybe take heart in the comments on this? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... edit#gid=0
Seems like loads of people who got 150+ felt terrible about the MBE when they finished taking it.

Re: So, Do You Think You Passed the Bar?
Did a piss-poor performance test and had a very tough time on the MBE's morning session. I'm pretty confident on everything else. So I' giving myself about a 50/50 shot, I guess.

No.
Despite doing like 2000 practice MBE questions, I feel like the multiple choice was so hard. But I feel like no one else feels that way. Sigh. I think I failed. Let's see. I hope I'm wrong and somehow miraculously I pass...

Maybe the other people that didn't feel that the multiple choice was hard are the same people that don't really score that well as a general matter, and it was just more of the same for them.ChocolateTruffle wrote:No.Despite doing like 2000 practice MBE questions, I feel like the multiple choice was so hard. If you did 2000 practice questions under timed conditions, trust the statistics. You'll probably test in the vicinity of where you were testing leading up to the exam. A large deviation either way is unlikely for just about anyone.

Re: So, Do You Think You Passed the Bar?
100% certain that I failed CBX, and that my failure is because of the essays. Only feel really good about Essays 1 and 6 and PT B. Ambivalent about 2, 3, and 5, though I'm pretty sure I did a complete enough analysis to pull 60s on those. Completely shit the bed on Essay 4 (I hit most of the issues, but fucked the analysis up/applied wrong rules for everything but standing).
Hopefully the MBE saves me, though I don't feel great about that either.
