hotel -- 30 minutes means its far enough away to where traffic could be an issue. And, if your hotel is w/i walking distance you can go back during lunch and keep food in your room so you don't have to go out at all.0lol wrote:or hotel
A few people I know stayed at a Residence Inn -- and it looked like such a neat set up. They could cook for themselves at night, have stuff waiting for lunch in their room. My house was literally like 10 minutes from the testing center, so I was good, but if I had been a half hour away, I would have gotten a hotel.

Hotel for sure. Anything you can do to minimize stress should absolutely be done. I think the Residence Inn in Arlington I'm staying at is like 5 minutes away from my testing center. (It's even a mile and a half away, so if I needed to I could walk.)0lol wrote:or hotel

I live in the outskirts of Queens. Near the border of Long Island. I decided to spend the money on a hotel near Javits. Last thing I need on test day is the NYC subway system

I actually decided to drive--my test center is about 25 minutes. I will be leaving at least one hour early each day. The testing center is 5 minutes away from the place I've worked for 2 years, I'm very comfortable with the drive. I wanted to be able to go home and play with my dog at the end of the day and cook dinner for myself and see my significant other. I knew that would be more calming than being alone in a hotel. That's just me though. I think if I wasn't so very comfortable with the drive, I probably wouldn't. I will probably end up leaving even 1.25-1.5 hours early because I am neurotic.
I've done about 5 test drives too during the testing period, so hopefully that works out.
