NYLE time commitment
Hi all,
Was wondering if I could get some info from those of you who have taken the NYLE about how much of a time commitment it is, in terms of the prep videos they make you watch and how much (if any) time you spent preparing beyond that? I want to take the one in August, but doing some traveling more or less immediately after the bar, and am only getting back a day or so before the date of the test. I could take one of the other dates, but kind of want to get it over with if possible and not too much of a big deal to prep for.

Re: NYLE time commitment
Are you signed up already? From your question, it sounds like you aren't.
The deadline to sign up is July 19. You have to have watched all the videos before you can sign up. It will take you at least 15 hours.
(You can do other stuff while the video plays, but you have to answer periodic questions.)
After you've signed up though, you can be just fine devoting 0 hours to prep.

Oh yikes thanks - for some reason I thought we could watch the videos after signing up. Bizarre. Welp, well not sure I want to take this on in the midst of bar prep

As long as they haven't changed it, you can play it in the background on mute, then ctrl-f the answer in the pdf, both for the video questions and the entire test.

Is there any reason to do the August administration rather than the later one?

Shit. I thought that by signing up for the course I would be able to watch these stupid videos after the bar. I didn't realize that I was supposed to have competed these videos by July 19th. I'm an idiot and thought I only had to sign up for the course by then. Sigh.

Can you finish the course by July 19 but then sign up for a later administration (i.e. not Aug 19)? I already did the "run in mute + ctrl F" thing through all the videos but don't know if I'll be around Aug 19.
