Can anyone familiar elaborate on the scoring scheme for Michigan? I know to pass your (raw MBE/2 + raw essay/2) must be greater than 135. But with Bar prep they said aim for 7/10s on essays and a target MBE between 60-70%. Is this correct? it seems like for that you need a curve but does anyone have an idea roughly what past numbers were needed on a raw scale?.
Thanks.

Re: Michigan bar exam
Hello. I passed Michigan in Feb. There were four essays that I totally bs'd on because I was unprepared for them. That being said, I walked away with a 156 scaled score on essays. My individual essay scores were: 10, 10, 5, 7, 5, 8, 6, 6, 4, 8, 8, 6, 7, 10, 9 for 109 total raw points. so 109 translated to 156. Pretty good curve.

Interesting. So they took your 156 and divided it by 2 and did the same with your MBE? Is the MBE score scales as well or is that just a raw score out of 190?kishy wrote:Hello. Re: Michigan bar exam
No, they took my (156 scaled essay score + my 144 MBE score) /2
for a final bar score of 150. 135 is minimum to pass
