Barbri graded essays

Post by psu2016 » Tue Jun 14, 2016 4:49 pm

Submitted what I thought was a reasonable MPT for grading...came back with a grade of 20 and exactly no redlining, just vague, conclusory comments like "add more facts" and "analysis needs work." These comments are utterly meaningless to me since the grader was unhelpful enough to not even attach my essay so I could see what s/he was referring to.

Everyone else I've talked to in my state/class got a word doc back with comments written in and actual meaningful critiques. Feeling really hopeless since apparently my essay wasn't even worth the time of who ever was grading it to do that much. Is this normal? I did well in law school and wasn't expecting to get a grade on par with "didn't respond to the question" for producing what I thought was at least average work...

FWIW, this was a three-page memo that I forced myself to churn out in the allotted time. I compared it to the model answer and hit a TON of things that they also did.

Really, really bummed. :|

A 20 seems way off, I was under the impression that 50 was a baseline, what state are you taking?

I would ask Barbri for a re-grade, just explain what happened and I'm sure they'll give you one.

Delaware.

Everyone I've talked to has gotten 50-65. I've read their stuff and looked at their comments, and mine is comparable, or at least I thought so.

Now I'm convinced I'm going to fail.
