At times, I feel like I cannot go on. I feel like giving up and doing something more enjoyable to bring just one more moment of happiness in the day. But I regret it at night when the anxiety sets in, confusing my tired mind. I realized that the only way to combat the anxiety is to chip away at the work while I can. "Just do it," shouts Shia in my mind (with a green screen). Then I navigate back over to my google doc where I work on outlining or essays.
I thought I would share my hard time with you and encourage you guys to post what motivates you throughout the studying process. In time, this thread will help anyone who just needs that extra push to keep going.

Re: Motivational Posters
Well, as someone who is taking this thing for the third time, I am finding that it wasn't particularly my understanding of the law that was standing in my own way, but getting down to business and practicing over and over again the things I needed to to do pass. I cannot afford to make that mistake again. Therefore, i'm with you on finding motivation however you need it in order to, as you say, "just do it."

I'm tagging this for future encouragement. I'm a first time taker who is really struggling with the MBE, and is dealing with massive depression/anxiety related to the exam.

As a bar tutor, I feel this is the biggest challenge facing students. I honestly believe that anyone who has the muster to endure three years of law school has more than enough in them to succeed in the bar exam. Sure the essay writing and the MBE require a learning a new skill that law school really doesn't teach, but that doesn't mean you cannot learn it. All it requires is to do what you've been doing all your life, it's just now the stakes are higher. You spend some three months studying and some three months waiting for results, and failing can feel as if you lost 6 months of your life.
Just remember the bar exam is as much about learning substantive laws and skills as much as it is about learning how to take a grueling test. Keep a consistent study plan and don't forget to do things that make you feel happy too. Taking care of your mental health is important during this time. Trust me, you will have the necessary adrenaline when taking the exam itself, but you need the calm as well to not forget all the skills you've learned.

Thanks, Raiden. I think you're right; I need to do something for myself that doesn't involve studying from 8 am until 9 pm.Raiden wrote:As a bar tutor, I feel this is the biggest challenge facing students.
