So, I'm in the process of filling out the California C&F, and I'm having the hardest time with the employment section. They want to know the start and end dates for every job you've had since you were 18, and thats been 15+ years at this point. I've been trying to call my previous employers to get exact hire dates and end dates, but its been damn near impossible. I can ballpark the dates, but I don't want to get in trouble either.
I worked for a Marriott hotel for a few years, but they can't look up my employment information because at the time it was owned by a franchisee. They told me to go to some service that does employment verifications -- but you can't sign up to check your own employment dates! Another company I worked for probably isn't even in business anymore because it was a super small 4 person operation.
I'm just wondering if I should ballpark the dates and hope for the best or if there is some service that can just do a background check and get the exact dates for me? Has anyone done this?

I didn't do CA, but I a lot of shady corporations have those weird online services that are impossible to check yourself. I just ballparked it, and put a note to the examiner with the website where he can request verification

Re: California C&F trouble
Thanks, I'll give them all the info I have, but its been so long that companies have changed hands and I don't know who has the employment records. I think I'll just try to get accurate data where I can and ballpark the rest....I'm just annoyed with the entire process at this point. Feels like a virtual colonoscopy.ballouttacontrol wrote:I didn't do CA, but I a lot of shady corporations have those weird online services that are impossible to check yourself.
