C & F on Bar
Just how badly do you have to fuck up to be precluded from passing the c & f part of the bar? Anecdotes are encouraged.

In NY I have heard debt can be a problem? I am sort of worried because at graduation I will have lots of debt. Some credit, and a lot of health related stuff. Had a bad accident and had to max out some cards years back. Been making minimum payments, but I am late on a few things.
Just wondering how common it is to be refused admission because of that?

Re: C & F on Bar
I have a friend with ridiculous amounts of debt, was behind in some, and passed c&f. I do not know how behind or if he got caught up. I don't know anyone who's been kept out for debt issues. I know people kept out for lying, DUIs, drug charges, 2 people with convictions that I don't know what they're for and someone who was suspended for 1 semester for plagiarism in law school.

A law school friend got popped trying to buy weed in law school. He got delayed a lot by NY bar, he is a 3rd year at a biglaw firm in NY and was just recently admitted judging by his profile (he was a law clerk forever, just recently switched over to associate).

You don't have to be admitted to the bar in order to clerk? For real?thegrayman wrote:A law school friend got popped trying to buy weed in law school. Some firms give people who aren't yet admitted the title "law clerk" instead of associate, I think.
But no, you generally don't have to be admitted to clerk, unless your judge requires it.
