How much of the Barbri course requires you to be on the Internet? Forum

Random question - but where I'll be living for this summer doesn't currently have Internet. I am planning to be at the library for 8 hours a day with Internet, but I am wondering if when I want to put in longer nights - is there a lot I do from barbri just in the books? Or is the Online portion essential for most of it?

I don't believe in these bar prep courses. Sitting through a boring lecture is a waste of time. Instead, the time should be spent reading the material on your own and making your own outlines. Also, do practice MBE's (I recommend Kaplan MBE) as well as every essay question you can get your hands on.

Buy some used Barbri books on Amazon, get the Kaplan book, and enroll in the Ameribar essay grader course.

I would say its about 70-80% online. The video lectures are online. The assigned MBE questions are online. Much of the personal homework is online. You can "prepare for class" using the hard copy conviser mini-review. Often, I would have time issues and skip that part. There are also some practice MBE question sets that are hard copy. The simulated MBE is out of a book. Practice essays can be completed offline because the hypos are out of a book.

If you want, you can download the lectures on the Barbri phone app for offline use. I think the MBE question sets are reproduced in the books too in addition to being available online. You can definitely make it work with only 7-8 hours of internet a day.

You should be fine with 7 or 8 hours of internet, especially if you group all your online work together. You can also cut down on your internet time by watching the videos on 1.25 or 1.5 speed. As another poster mentioned, you can also download some of the lectures to your iPad or phone using the Barbri app and listen/watch later without internet.

There's also plenty that can be done from home without internet, including practice question sets in the Barbri books, practice essays, reviewing Barbri outlines (CMR and long outlines), and notecards (if you want to go that route). Good luck and happy studying!
