Character and Fitness Credit Check

Post by UMich11 » Tue Mar 29, 2016 10:35 pm

Anyone know if this is a hard pull - shows on our credit file for 2 years - or if it is a soft pull?

Soft pull. You aren't applying for additional credit, so it isn't going to affect your credit score. This review will be no different than when you switch auto insurance or home insurance companies and they run your credit score to help determine your risk level.

Hope this helps!

I was late on credit for 3 months... and now on record... how Can i remove the NOT-paying for a few months... But all are current.

Will it a problem for admission?

I'm sure they'll ask and you'll just have to explain what happened. Doubt it will be an item to really trip you up. That being said, if there was a section of the application which asked about this and you didn't state it, you could have a bigger issued. Ex: the michigan app asks for any accounts past due 90 days - need to list them and why.
