Second Bar While in Biglaw

Post by Lacepiece23 » Wed Feb 10, 2016 12:22 pm

Hi all,

I'm sure this may have been answered, but didn't feel like searching. Anyone take a second bar while working in Biglaw. I am a first year and really want to take NY this summer. I actually don't want to leave my firm, but think that having NYC, plus the possibility of waiving into a bunch of jurisdictions with my score is appealing--if I understand how the UBE works. Does anyone have any experience? Tips? Thoughts?

I did it last summer for the IL bar. it sucked because I had taken the VA bar in 2012 and forgotten everything. you will probably remember a lot more since you took the first bar exam recently

Any other advice? Did you tell people at work? Did you get less work while you were taking the bar?
