Failed. Tutors in Los Angeles?
Failed the CBX for the first time. Bummed but not feeling like the world is ending or anything. Maybe that will come later? Haha. Anyway, wondering whether anyone has any recommendations for bar writing tutors in Los Angeles. Any other advice from repeaters is welcome, too, of course. Thanks!

This would be helpful information. Its a lot to ask, but if a person responds, it would also be great to have approximate pricing too.

Did any of you get some information about tutors? If so, could you please share? Thank you!

Re: Failed. Tutors in Los Angeles?
I know Jason at one-timers made many of my multi-repeater friends pass. Unfortunately, he costs somewhere around $5K.
I highly don't recommend Jay Chavkin's Personal Bar Prep. 9/10 of us who took him in the summer failed (6 first timers and 4 repeaters) - and we were anywhere from top 10 - 60 percent. PM me if you want to know details.

I spoke with John Crossfield at cabargrader.com (I think).hotsummer wrote:Did any of you get some information about tutors? If so, could you please share? Thank you!
He was recommended by someone else on this site and he seems to have a pretty comprehensive writing program. He does an essay only program for about $4500, which includes his analysis of 20 essays and 6 tutoring hours (and some other things). He also does an essay + PT program with 20 essays and 6 PT's and the 6 tutoring hours for about $5000.
I really got a good feeling from talking to him, but he doesn't seem very movable on the price so I'm mulling it over. When I told him price was an issue he suggested another past bar grader that may have better rates named Jay Bijlani. Has anyone ever heard of him?
