NY February Bar Test Sites
I was wondering if anyone who has taken the NY February bar exam know where the test sites are usually located? Is it held in the Javits Center? For Albany, is it at Empire State Plaza or Times Union?
Thanks

Not sure about javitts in February but I took it in Albany in February in the empire state plaza, though Manhattan came up for me when choosing location to register. I retook in Manhattan in July and it was way better and less travelling and stress. I stayed at the tryp by wyndham north just off times square and there is a great Starbucks around the corner to grab a hot chocolate and bagel before you grab a cab to javitts. It's pretty close. 5-8 minute spin. If you can avoid Albany do!aimo5656 wrote:I was wondering if anyone who has taken the NY February bar exam know where the test sites are usually located? Out of staters generally are assigned to Albany, but it is first come first served when the email goes out.
Worst case scenario you are heading to Buffalo, and I only know 1 girl that happened to and that was because she missed the email and only got round to seeing it about 48 hours after it was sent.
I remember seeing WestChester being an option one year but I don't know if that is still the case.
In Albany, you take it at the Rocafeller Plaza, specifically under the egg building in a theatre type place with a floor level and two or three levels slightly higher up. Directions are read to you from the stage. I have also heard of some people being assigned to a private conference room in a nearby hotel, and some even get private rooms of the main area in the egg building. I think it's just the luck of the draw, though.
I hope that's helpful.
(*source : taken it in Albany 4 times.

Apparently New York based candidates have received their location confirmation email this morning... any idea how much later the out of state-ers normally get the email with the location link? Praying for Manhattan, sat it there in July and missed by 2%, resitting in February and want to avoid the trek to Albany in the snow, have heard getting taxis from your hotel to the test center is a nightmare...

Re: NY February Bar Test Sites
I think that they are using a much smaller testing site than Javits for these February exams and it must be full up already (my guess is numbers are way down due to many people waiting for the UBE to be introduced come July?)... looks like I'm Albany boundiwantmybar wrote:What the actual fuck....starryski wrote:i opened the email 15 minutes after it was sent and NYC was already filled. i had to choose westchesterIrishLassie wrote:Apparently New York based candidates have received their location confirmation email this morning... any idea how much later the out of state-ers normally get the email with the location link? NYC is full??? No NYC for out-of-state people in February? Which are the options? Just Westchester, Albany and Buffalo? Thanks for any info. I'm out-of-stater and no e-mails yet.starryski wrote:i opened the email 15 minutes after it was sent and NYC was already filled. i had to choose westchesterIrishLassie wrote:Apparently New York based candidates have received their location confirmation email this morning... any idea how much later the out of state-ers normally get the email with the location link? Re: NY February Bar Test Sites
im from NYC and 15 mins after they sent the email Armory was no longer on the list. I thought it was a bug or something so I called the bar and they said if its not on the list it is full. the only options left were westchester, buffalo, and albany. i'm assuming most people living in NYC will opt for Westchester.BarTaker wrote:NYC is full??? I got an email about 45 minutes ago with options. I was 4 minutes behind seeing it and clicking in and westchester wasn't available to type, only handwrite, so I went with Albany. Handwrote last time and feel that's what cost me the 2%! Anyone else get Westchester to type?

IrishLassie :
I opened the email immediately and westchester wasn't available for typing so you didn't miss anything.
I chose Albany, i'm not from NY but i had the time to look up online and buffalo is much more far away.
Hotels are so expensive, thanks again the NY administration for being incompetent.
