Themis + AdaptiBar?
Apologies if this thread is redundant...
I have already paid for Themis to prepare for February. I am also thinking of signing up for AdaptiBar to get a head start on the MBE material before I start the Themis class in December. I plan to study full time for 2 months beginning in December. Did anyone here study with both? Do you think its worth the $$?
Thanks!

Re: Themis + AdaptiBar?
First time I took the bar I did just Themis and did horribly on MBE. Second time I did Themis and Adaptibar and did MUCH better on MBE, and felt a lot better (best thing was I could see the "ah hah" moments where I knew exactly HOW they were trying to trick me).
The biggest game changer for me is that AdaptiBar actually licenses real questions, and that it gives you advanced stats on which subtopics (i.e. UCC, product liability, Landlord Tenant, etc.) you are doing and also how well you are doing compared to your state and the country in general. Adds a bit of competition. It's worth it.
If you or anyone else needs a $50 off coupon for AdaptiBar, send me a private message with your email and I'll hook it up.

Themis uses real questions like AdaptiBar. Most questions I did for Themis was repeated in AdaptiBar. (The only ones that weren't as the Civil Procedure questions.)
Stats
I don't know what BuenAbogado is talking about, but Themis, on its web portal, also breaks down your stats by subtopic. I actually have a copy of my print for my first set.
The only difference between AdaptiBar and Themis questions are (1) the civil procedure questions and (2) the statistics they break down by state and country.
Honestly, it's not worth the extra money in my opinion.

Re: Themis + AdaptiBar?
We can debate all day long, but almost everyone I spoke with in February that added adaptibar to supplement either Themis or barbri or Kaplan echoed my sentiments as well as many people on this board that adaptibar was much more like the real thing.sdphill wrote:Real QuestionsBuenAbogado wrote:The biggest game changer for me is that AdaptiBar actually licenses real questions, and that it gives you advanced stats on which subtopics (i.e. UCC, product liability, Landlord Tenant, etc.) you are doing and also how well you are doing compared to your state and the country in general. As far as statistics I don't believe they showed you how you were doing compared to state and country, which is very important considering the exam gets scaled based on results.

Re: Themis + AdaptiBar?
Themis and Adaptibar both use real questions, so you're going to see a lot of repeat questions if you're keeping up with Themis and trying to use Adaptibar as a supplement. I bought both because but ended up not really using Adaptibar that much. That said, I like their product, they have a good interface and lots of ways to customize your practice. If I had to take another bar, I'd definitely do Adaptibar. That and publicly available outlines would be plenty for the MBE.
EDIT: as for the differences in subject breakdowns, Themis actually does a really good job at this, but makes it harder to find on their website. I didn't find it until the last two weeks of prep. Themis makes it very obvious. Oh, also, in general I found Themis explanations to be significantly better than Adaptibar, though they both were really lacking on occasion. Adaptibar CivPro was a nightmare, but Themis was only okay.

Re: Themis + AdaptiBar?
since there seems to be no debate that Barbri MBE questions are not real licensed ones, is it recommended to get Adaptibar with Barbri then?

Re: Themis + AdaptiBar?
I agree with this. Also, I liked how Themis (in their subject-based practice problems) started to give me questions that I consistently got wrong. (I found this out after calling and complaining that I cannot hit the 70% mark anymore... The Rep told me that all of the questions were online because they were customized to the user's weakest areas.)anon sequitur wrote:Oh, also, in general I found Themis explanations to be significantly better than Adaptibar, though they both were really lacking on occasion.
