Hi Guys,
I'm just wondering if anyone can direct me to any decent online materials for the MPT?
I get that it's a difficult topic to prepare for, but if anyone has anything which outlines how to answer the questions, such a the formats required for the various tasks, i'd be very grateful id you could point me in that direction.
Thanks.

Isn't it nearly always a memo or the argument & authorities section of a brief? Unless you struggle with legal writing, prep for the MPT should be minimal. Rely on what you learned in legal writing. I think Barbri recommends reviewing the task first, the case library second, and the rest of the documents last.

Thanks for the response. This is kind of my problem, I am a UK candidate and I've never taken a course on legal writing. The thing that worries me most is screwing up the format that the examiners want to see for each kind of document we have to draft.Neve wrote:Isn't it nearly always a memo or the argument & authorities section of a brief? I did source an MPT handout from Barbri from 2012, but it's totally unfilled out, and of little to no use to me.
I just need to know what a response should look like. In all honesty, i'm hoping to be able to bluff the rest.

Re: MPT Online resource and materials
I feel your pain. I'm a UK law graduate too and the MPT is pretty daunting even when you have taken a course in legal writing (I covered this as part of the LPC).
You should have some model answers as part of your course material. I am studying with Themis and there are about 6 MPT practice questions.
I personally don't think that the format matters too much as long as you show your ability to analyse the case law and rules/legislation and apply these to the fact. Obviously, it helps to write persuasively or objectively as per what is being asked.
How are you finding the prep so far overall? I feel like I have run into a brick wall, wondering what on earth did I do to merit this. Only a few days to go and hoping to still have some shreds of sanity left by then.
Good luck!
