Depends on your personality. I'm not much for pomp & circumstance, and I only went to the swearing in event because it was much quicker and less hassle. It felt like a waste of time and I was there by myself. My law school friends I was with felt like it was a waste of time as well — I was texting/TLSing the whole time, my friend took two phone calls, etc. I have one picture I took of the hall during the event, but that's it. If you'd be going by yourself anyway, you're not losing much. If your family/friends want to go, of course go.
