[Let this be it!]

I'm planning to take CA Bar and debating between Themis and Kaplan--any suggestions or advice is appreciated!

I have no idea whether or not I passed yet, but Themis seemed pretty great for the price. I felt relatively prepared after doing 84% completion of their course. Now lets hope this does not jinx me.

This is a complaint that may be common to all bar prep companies, but I found certain aspects of the Kaplan course to be incredibly frustrating. I took the in-class option, which wasn't too helpful (some of the in-class lecturers were actually worse than the ones for the online course) and there were countless mistakes in their model answers. I liked that they offered unlimited essay grading, although closer to the exam they take up to a week or longer to get back to you and the feedback is hurried/generally unhelpful. I heard many of the same complaints from friends who took Barbri as well. Generally my friends who took Themis were satisfied, though who knows how things might change come Nov. 21st!

To "dtl"-- please keep me posted! I'm really feeling that Themis would be my final selection and I appreciate your feedback!

To "msch0i"--thank you for sharing your experience with Kaplan and your friends' experiences! I was leaning toward Themis. "dtl" and your feedbacks are definitely helping me make my final decision! I'll call their rep tomorrow!

Thank you again to all three! Please continue posting because I'll be posting as I work toward the exam. I only dread the online course because it's such a lonely road to do this alone!
