Virginia - What happens once you pass the bar exam?

Post by saeco06 » Fri Sep 05, 2014 2:24 pm

I took the VA bar exam in July. Assuming I pass, when am I eligible to start practicing law? If I understand correctly, the admissions ceremony in December is only to be admitted to the Supreme Court, so I assume I'm eligible to practice in the lower courts before then... But how and when do we receive our licenses? I've found several jobs to apply for, but many of them say "must be eligible for VA bar admission within two months." Will we be admitted and able to practice law within a month of receiving our bar results?

Thanks!
