Should I be worried about MPTs?
Tried for the first time to do a "quick" MPT practice, and am being extremely depressed. Does anyone have any thoughts on the City of Ontario question on the MPT book? We pretty much have 45-50 minutes to actually type/write, and Barbri's sample answer is 5-page-long. Are they kidding me? Or do you think that I have a serious problem with my typing speed? Should I be worried about MPT at all? I feel so behind/have tons of things to catch up on, and am trying to seriously cram in the next few days. Should I stop/reduce MBE/essays practice and spend more time on MPT? Help, please!

how much is the MPT weighted? if its only 10% or less I would not worry too much. But if your state weighs it as a double essay ( because you are given 2x the allotted time to do it) then I would do more.
Are you typing or handwriting? if you are typin, then I would do a very brief outline as you type. that is as soon as you see the format, start with the format. then read the materials and make notes in the sides ( so you can read the margins as you flip through). then start writing. if you want make a quick outline of your paper.. I..e. Section 1- Name. cases, page number A,B, C Section 2 name, cases page number ABC ( etc etc for other stuff as necessary) then conclusion. then spend the rest of the time ( hour or so) typing it all out.

Thanks for your advice. I think the MPTs are worth 1.5x an essay in my jx. This changes everything with my game plans for the rest of the week. Damn.

I winged my MPT, and I probably clearly passed, but it was worrying since I knew I did pretty shitty on it.
I'd practice 2-3, and if you aren't retarded, it'll be a good place to gain point.s

You mean 2-3/day, or just 2-3 until the exam? I timed myself, and it seems like I max out at the end of page 2 or so. Should I type more? Barbri's 5-page seems absurd to me. I know of no one who can type a coherent 5-page document within 45 mins.Desert Fox wrote:I winged my MPT, and I probably clearly passed, but it was worrying since I knew I did pretty shitty on it.

if you think the MPT is your only weak area, or the weakest of your weak areas, then do 2-3 per day.. that will be at least 3- 4 1/2 hours of doing the MPT plus your review.
if you think you need to work on your MBE or state law subjects, then work on those areas. but only you know what you need to do/ what your weakest areas are

Re: Should I be worried about MPTs?
Ours are worth 20% so its good chance of picking up extra points. I have not fared so well on them. Apparently I need to use CREAC when implementing case rules more. Barbri's sample answers a joke, both for essays and MPT's because it's friggin impossible perform at that level under the allotted time. I would say practice at least all of the tested formats so you're familiar with the on game day.
