It's just 50 MBE questions and 3 essay questions; the MBE Q's and MEE essays are two separate tasks, so you can spread them out.Burgstaller04 wrote:I've got my first Milestone exam tomorrow. Anyone taken one and know roughly how long they take? What does the Milestone involve? Is it just more practice MC questions?

Holy crap, I really wish the estimated significance of video lecturers as a chunk of your day's total time would be more realistic. This commercial paper lecture is pretty much the equivalent of two parts for a normal lecture series. Seventeen fricking videos, most of them 15+ minutes long! I'm not going to be done with these by dinner, and it's my first task for the day.

Does anyone know what the majority rule of the landlord is to deliver possession of leaseholds? Themis messed up, because in the lecture video it says the majority position is to deliver actual possession, BUT on the assessment test, it says that the majority position is to deliver legal possession.

How could a leaseholder be a leaseholder without having actual possession? Why would anyone pay to rent a part of a building without having the right to actually enter the building and live or work in it?Genuine4ps wrote:Does anyone know what the majority rule of the landlord is to deliver possession of leaseholds? Look at your handout, pg. 29 at the top of the page (part C).Tanicius wrote:How could a leaseholder be a leaseholder without having actual possession? Majority Rule: The landlord must deliver actually possession of the leasehold premises. This means physical possession of the property.
Minority Rule: The landlord is only required to deliver legal possession.
Again, this contradicts the assessment questions.

Huh. This says the majority rule is legal possession only.

Under the English RUle ( followed in NY) the landlord impledly promises to give a new tenant actual exclusive possession on the first day of the lease.
Under the American Rule ( used in MBE) the landlord only agrees to turn over the right of possession, and the burden is on the new tenant to evict any holdover tenants

I have the MBE Critical Pass flashcards and they say the majority rule is actual possession, as well.Genuine4ps wrote:Damnit, Themis.Tanicius wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_rule_(property)

We feel that optimal retention occurs in lectures that are between 15-20 minutes.
Oh hai 27 minute Oil/Gas lecture.

Does anyone know why themis won't allow you to re-take the practice MBE multiple choice exams? I want to go over the questions again to make sure I know the parts I got wrong originally, and it won't let me.
Just looking at the questions and answers on the results page isn't as helpful.
Also, does anyone know approximately what completion percent should I be at right now?

That would be nifty if they allowed you to retake older tests.bobanderson wrote:Does anyone know why themis won't allow you to re-take the practice MBE multiple choice exams? I want to go over the questions again to make sure I know the parts I got wrong originally, and it won't let me.

Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2014 Exam
You're welcome! I hate paying full price for online stuff... if you look long enough there always seems to be a coupon for everything! I think they have a few samples on the Lean Sheets page that we can view to make sure we like the rule statements. Still haven't decided if I'm getting them... I'm taking the day off from law today to work on other (more interesting!) stuff... so I'll figure it all out tomorrow! And as for Sacuzzo's predictions, it seems he relies on how often the subjects (and sub topics) have been offered in the past... he looks at patterns. It's all a guessing game, but I still found his 2 "predictions" videos for the July 2014 CA Bar to be really interesting... Here's Part 1 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rW9jYnVt_MQ and PART 2 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fycls3pY6XY if anyone is interested and needs a break... again, don't rely on them - just take them for what they're worth... I enjoyed themGenuine4ps wrote:First, thank you for the discount code. I'm really close to pulling the trigger. I just hope it doesn't deviate from Themis. I tried to find the answer in our intro handout, but it wasn't clear... Thanks! Oh, and btw, I haven't decided if I'm getting Lean Sheets or not, but I searched and searched and found a good discount code if anyone decides to get them... it's "DUSTIN" and that should get you 25% off
If anyone has them, let me know if you think they're helpful - thanks! OH, and one more thing! I noticed Dr. Dennis Sacuzzo's CA Bar predictions for July 2014. PR, Crimes, Evidence, Contracts/Remedies, Real Property, Business Associations or Wills & Trusts... thoughts anyone?? Of course, don't rely on that - but I do think it's still worth pondering considering how OVERWHELMING all of this is... waaaaay too much material to memorize.
Second, how exactly does this Sacuzzo come to his predictions? I thought it was absolutely random.

I'm worried that barbri's crim lecture was like 4+ hours and ours for NY + MBE is only around 2.5 hours...

Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2014 Exam
I wouldn't be worried. Some of the lecturers, I've realized, go way overboard on really specific topics that you almost can't learn except by trial/error or in-depth note-taking upon review of the long outline. BarBri in particular is notorious for going way overboard -- the result is that instead of developing a more nuanced understanding, you probably actually end up remembering way less.Gotti wrote:I'm worried that barbri's crim lecture was like 4+ hours and ours for NY + MBE is only around 2.5 hours...

Re: Themis Bar Review Hangout - July 2014 Exam
I have the MBE Lean sheets. I think they're helpful. I use them to review before I do a practice set of questions because they are so concise/quick to look over. Theres nothing new or novel about the information. Its just a matter of whether you want to spend the time making a concise outline or not. If not, like me, they're a good option.Genuine4ps wrote:First, thank you for the discount code. I'm really close to pulling the trigger. I just hope it doesn't deviate from Themis. I got Lean sheets and really like it. I usually make a longer outline and then make a very short one when I'm studying for finals, but I just don't feel like I have the time. Plus, it's not like I can take my outline into the exam with me...

For people taking CA, what % are you at now? I'm at 37% and was wondering if that's on pace.

I'm at 40% and think I am about on pace, maybe slightly behind, based on what I have left to do before the graded criminal law essay scheduled for tomorrow.Apple Tree wrote:For people taking CA, what % are you at now? I'm at 37% and was wondering if that's on pace.
