Passed in TX; just signed up for TLS because the spreadsheet really helped calm my nerves in the month leading up 146.3 MBE No idea on the midterm because I never took it or the refresher (yeah don't recommend my study scheme) but towards the end I was averaging 60%+ on each topic based on the barbri app

Passed in Texas!! I took Barbri, worked full time, and got a 118 on the midterm. Ended up with a 152.5 on the real thing, and no idea how! I left feeling like I had studied for the entirely wrong test. I do not remember a string of D's on any portion of the test. I blocked out that memory from my brain, all I remember was feeling like every question I answered was wrong.

Good luck to those still waiting, seeing the passing results with barbri midterm grades helped ease me worries a little bit.

Passed TX, 139.9 on MBE. Had the long string of Ds in the AM. Think I had a 125 on the midterm My advice: don't neglect essays. My score was much higher than I expected with that MBE score and could really carry you through (at least in Texas) Thanks a million for the spreadsheet...really calmed my nerves.

Passed. 130 Barbri midterm and 66 on refresher. 160.8 scaled MBE.

(ETA - Exam impressions: Lots of Ds in a row in the AM. Had to talk myself out of making anything of it while in the exam room. Basically convinced myself that sure, at least one of them had to be wrong, but since I didn't know which one and didn't want to rework 10-12 questions, I should move on.

Also, felt terrible about MBE performance after exam and better about essays and other parts, but I did 10 points worse on average on those.)

(ETA2 - Study environment: Started studying at the end of May when Barbri started at about 4-5 hours/day with weekends off which I ramped up until I was doing about 10 hours/weekday and 5 hours/Sat/Sun. Completed 86% of Barbri; also did some practice MBE off the NCBE website and bought but barely used LeanSheets; and, I did a ton of old Texas Civ/Crim Pro questions, whether they were assigned or not.)

Passed, TX, 143 scaled MBE.

Took Themis and was consistently answering only 55% of the practice questions correctly. My simulated MBE was about 55% as well.

Worked full time during bar review, wife & kids (yes it can be done!)

I don't remember if I had the string of D's. I do remember noticing something unusual during the AM session, but I had long since blocked it out of my mind by the time everybody was discussing it here.

Damn. I wouldn't recommend it if it can be avoided, but huge respect to you for the quoted. Go celebrate and relax, you deserve it.

Passed in Texas. I don't have my scores because the online system somehow doesn't have my documents. I will post scores once I get them.

But my Kaplan midterm was 99/200 (HORRIBLE) and final wasn't much better at 102. So I'm VERY CURIOUS to see what my MBE and final score looked like. I thought the MPT was good...just some formatting and spell check I couldn't get to. TX civil was good but crim pro felt terrible. THe MBE I felt murdered by. I had a string of 6-7 D's and I had a lot of B's and D's overall. For the essays, I missed a subpart completely for the intestacy question, knew mechanic's lien for property but bs'd the workings of it. All I can say is that I must have done a lot better on the essays because I can't imagine my MBE to be my saving grace.

I haven't posted that much before either, but this was helpful to me.

I passed in Texas, but it was tough for me throughout the entire process. I tried my best to finish Barbri, but I think I only probably got up to 75-80% of the course. I got a 105 raw on the Barbri midterm, which is terrible! I consistently didn't do well on the Property and Contracts MBE questions.

I ended up getting 145 scaled on the MBE and passed! Even though I thought I failed, I didn't. If you put in the effort to go through Barbri, you will do great. I'm one of those people who does TERRIBLE on standardized tests, but I finally was able to do well on one of them! Thanks everyone on this thread!

Passed Texas. Did barbri only. 143 raw on barbri midterm. 167.6 on MBE. Focused mainly on MBE through June but kept up with the state law lectures. After the midterm I focused more on reviewing and understanding the law than on questions. I think that strategy paid off.

I want to rep those that didn't pass! Failed in TX by 7 points. 7.

I got 98 on the barbri midterm, 133 on the real thing. I didn't think the MBE was that bad - property essays killed me.

Also, for the record, I didn't study even a little bit for the midterm.

Gonna try and get your updates into the spreadsheet in the next couple of days.

Passed in TX. I got a 98 on the simulated and a 53 on the refresher. I scored around 65-75% on the different MBE sets. Ended up getting a 136.1 on the real thing even though I didn't answer the last 5 questions of the AM section and guessed on the last 5 of the PM section.

I finished 86% of Barbri and felt good about the exam but felt like I likely failed as time went on. Congrats to those who passed and sorry to those who didn't.

Passed TX. 140 MBE scaled, used Themis and finished about 80% of the course. Repeater. Had to quit my full time job to study - 4 weeks before the exam.

Averaged 70% on MBE practice questions, around 55% for the Civil Procedure practice q's. Felt like I guessed on all of the civil procedure questions on the actual exam, and some evidence questions as well.

cowgirl_bebop wrote:Passed NY. 148.4 MBE. Took Kaplan and completed MAYBEEEEEEEE half of the course, but that is probably too generous. Watched all of the video lessons (at regular speed) and filled in the bar notes. Completed about 3 sample MBEs but don't quite remember the results of the last one (I think around something in the 120s). Never actually did a full essay or MPT, and completed about 400 MC questions max. Don't know how but somehow it was enough to pass.

My advice: don't do what I did. I have always been terrible at keeping up with online courses, and this proved to be no different. I would have preferred the structure of an in-person class, but distance from the nearest class site plus a midsummer interstate move made that impossible. Kaplan's lessons were pretty good IMO, and I'd recommend it to others. However, if their system doesn't suit your study type, tweak what you need to tweak and go from there. I know that strict memorization is not really something I can do, so I focused on methods that didn't require that.

Also, if you easily get psyched out, AVOID TALKING ABOUT THE TEST WITH OTHER PEOPLE STUDYING. If you worry about how little (or much) you are doing compared to others, how your practice scores are coming out, or how comfortable others may seem compared to you, you are going to mess yourself up.
I'm similar. Scored a 141. Didn't do a single practice essay or MPT. Was banking on the MBE to pass but I scored pretty low so I'm assuming I did decently on the essays. Ignored the NY specific stuff until a week out. The bar in NY is very low.

I passed in Texas. Can't actually believe it. I was terrified of the MBE. I took Themis. My scores were really up and down before the exam - not consistent at all. I think my highest out of a 100 set was like a 70. I took the MBE and it was rough. I had major timing issues - as in they called the 5 minute mark and I had 10-15 questions left. I felt like shit afterwards and really remembered thinking essays/MPT would have to carry me through.

Guess what carried me through? My MBE. I managed a 153. I passed by a good margin, but my essays were definitely average - maybe even a little below average.

I did just under 2,000 questions and during my studying I really focused on the answers and identifying some of the tricks the examiners would throw at you. I took time off too. I didn't exhaust myself doing MBE Qs.

Passed NJ, with a 155 on the MBE.
Studied with BarMax, completed pretty much all of it.
Felt AWFUL after MBE day.

Failed Texas, 665 (needed 675). 143 MBE, no string of D's. 116 on Themis practice exam 1-2 weeks before.

Waiting for my results, I was much more concerned about the MBE than essays but turns out I was wrong.

Passed MD today, don't know my MBE score as of yet. But I do remember the infamous am string of D's.
