You need to know what the conversion is between raw and scaled for each year.newusername wrote:Hi, all. Anyone good with math know how many raw points short i was if i scored 1418 on the last examination? 1551 mbe, 1346 written.

I'll use these to estimate for you:
- MBE scaling table from the past (latest available one AFAIK) http://admissions.calbar.ca.gov/portals ... l_info.pdf
- One-Timers CBX score calculator https://one-timers.com/one-timers-bar-exam-calculator/
- Refer to the grading methodology for a basic calculation you can just assume I did correctly (read first if you're going to ask) http://admissions.calbar.ca.gov/Portals ... rade_R.pdf
Again, know that this is merely an estimate based on cobbling together conversions from different administrations. It varies from test to test.
1551 MBE = ~141 raw MBE correct
Inputting MBE 141 into the score calculator, we get a total composite score of 1414 with 585 raw written and 1424 with 590 raw written. You needed 600 (average of 60 across each essay and PT) raw to get a 1443 and pass with your very good MBE score.
Your score was 1418, so you were missing about 10-15 raw points from the written portions. Pretty close! Work on your essays and/or PTs (try to aim 65s on PTs since they are worth a butt-ton).

Knowing I had a plan B took so much pressure off of me.a male human wrote:By this time in one week, you will be celebrating or ... not celebrating.
If it's the latter, know that it's not the end of the world. What's the worst-case scenario? Whatever it is, it can most likely be dealt with.
There are next steps you can take. I'll offer some thoughts, as I'm sure others will. Best of luck until then!

It's mostly an ego and embarrassment problem (not to downplay if anyone has real issues like loss of job, loss of relationships, children, etc.). It does hurt a lot, but it's not the end of the world

It wasn't. And I think not passing the first time made me appreciate passing the second time so much more.a male human wrote:That's great to hear!rcharter1978 wrote:Knowing I had a plan B took so much pressure off of me.a male human wrote:By this time in one week, you will be celebrating or ... not celebrating.

Focusing on what needed to get done to succeed the second time took the focus off of the actual failure.

Still kicking myself for the one massive error I made on essays: totally skipped the standing discussion on Q4 - Con Law. Only discussed 11th and gave an OK, but legally shaky, procedural due process analysis.
Any chance I can salvage my grade on that one (55-60s)? I'm wondering if decent to pretty good analysis on the other topics would make up for lost points on missing one area entirely within an essay. Not sure how that works.

If that's the only thing you missed, you're looking at a ~60. And if your other essays were better, you likely passed.chicoalto0649 wrote:Still kicking myself for the one massive error I made on essays: totally skipped the standing discussion on Q4 - Con Law. Given that the property essay had 2 parts to question 2, did everyone get both parts? Or did other people also yolo and miss?

1 part could be disposed of relatively quickly (breach of k - there was none because promises in contract merged with deed)2TimesTheCharm wrote:If that's the only thing you missed, you're looking at a ~60. I didn't list out all 6 covenants contained within a warranty deed which is what Bar Secrets said we had to do.... I basically summarized the "gist" of promises within the deed then based my conclusion off that

Thanks to those posting/ linking the screen images. I feel prepared for Friday...
So.. What is everyone planning to do Friday? I'm taking half the day off to get some self-pampering done at the spa! Something to look forward to. Opening my results up with my parents afterward.

Just so I don't waste precious seconds after 6pm trying to figure this out:
To check whether we passed, we go to http://apps.calbar.ca.gov/exam/ ? I'm assuming on Friday at 6pm, where it now says, "Results will be available in 2 days", it will then give us the option to type in our file & application #'s to get our results?

If your app # is 3 digits do we have to put two 0's in before entering our app number? I remember having to do that at the actual exam.

Yeah, I screwed up both. For that part, I said she might be able to claim breach based on bad faith/ lack of due diligence in securing marketable title, but it's not likely to succeed since post-purchase the deed was now her problem. As for all 6 covenants, I miscounted and put 7chicoalto0649 wrote:

If I get a 55 on that essay, I'll be very happy.

at https://sbc.calbar.ca.gov/default.aspx after you login your info, does everyone else have a red "requirement not satisfied" and red "not on motion" right now?

Whatever you see elsewhere does not matter. There is no known legitimate way to find out your results ahead of time.

I probably won't check this forum again (at least until after results). As such, I wanted to wish all of my fellow CBX takers good luck. This is a really shitty process and I hope that I and all of you can be done with it by tomorrow evening.

Thanks so much for clearing that up for me. Making sense of any bit helps a whole lot at this point... considering the overall uncertainty of this process.2807 wrote:armenianBEAUTY wrote:Just so I don't waste precious seconds after 6pm trying to figure this out:

I don't believe you need to add any zeros in front of your app number. It should be just the number as it appears on your card as far as I remember. However, if you get an error message, try and enter it in with zeros in front and see what happens. Good luck!djwjddl wrote:anyone?djwjddl wrote:If your app # is 3 digits do we have to put two 0's in before entering our app number? I remember having to do that at the actual exam.

The worst part is everyone asking about results and saying "I'm sure you passed". Yeah, that doesn't help.
