Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
Anyone know if there is anyway to "wipe out" some previous questions taken in StudySmart software? For Evidence, I did a few questions before starting the course on the Barbri app on my phone, then last night synced the app to my online account. Some of the questions were from question sets we have yet to do yet, so I would like to wipe the slate clean if at all possible.

What is a "good" score to get on these MPQ 18 question sets?

Which state are you in? I'm in NY, and have been assigned several sets of MBE questions plus one essay already.Neff wrote:So it's completely safe to just follow the BARBRI calendar right? So far we haven't had any MC or essay assignments, just listen to lectures and review notes. If we just do practice problems when the schedule tells us to do problems, is that okay? I'm hesitant to do problems now since I'm afraid I might do something that will end up being assigned later.

Moderately useful. It will teach you some BLL that isn't covered in the lectures. But, like the lectures, it's pretty selective in its coverage.victortsoi wrote:what do people think of amp? useful, waste, what?

Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
this is actually a personal peculiarity, but a problem i face, is that i either like to be fully awake when im working, or stop if i get tired, because I'm afraid that things I review when im really at 50% will be glossed over or not "gotten" properly, so I end up doing less I guess than I could be doing. Is this the wrong approach?

I am a huge proponent of napping, despite its perceived elementary nature. I watch the substantive lectures in the morning, go over some misc. things or answer some MBE questions thereafter, go to the gym, unwind by reviewing some notes for an hour after the gym, nap, and then get right back after it.victortsoi wrote:this is actually a personal peculiarity, but a problem i face, is that i either like to be fully awake when im working, or stop if i get tired, because I'm afraid that things I review when im really at 50% will be glossed over or not "gotten" properly, so I end up doing less I guess than I could be doing. MFK: Freer, Mott, and Epstein
First off, Mott is my fuck because he looks like me and we both love Article 9. I'll marry Freer because he seems like a generous lover. Finally, and it hurts me to say this, I will kill Epstein by default.

Okay guys this is probably a dumb question but the inconsistency is bugging me. Epstein says one thing in the K lecture, barbri materials suggest another: In a services contract for super rare or unique services - is specific enforcement ever appropriate? Epstein suggest is may be, Barbri materials suggest is never is. For example - Lebron cannot just be replaced by any Joe Schmo on the street.

moderately useful is a decent way to put it. I found it useful when reviewing but I would prioritize other things before getting to ampvictortsoi wrote:what do people think of amp? useful, waste, what?

The way I learned it, no. You can never ever ever ever ever force people to work.HLBE689 wrote:Okay guys this is probably a dumb question but the inconsistency is bugging me. I think the problem here is the distinction between specific performance and a negative Injunction. No specific performance for services contracts (I.e., can't ever require someone to provide a service), but in some contexts a court can enjoin a breaching party from providing the service for others for a reasonable time. Think highly unique services or non-compete agreements.No13baby wrote:The way I learned it, no. So, you can't force LeBron to play, but you might be able to enjoin him from playing for other teams for the term of the contract.

Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
Hey all! Checking in, and I have a quick question for you legal geniuses regarding the "Barbri Amp" assignments that Barbri assigns us periodically. Is there a general timeline when these are supposed to be completed? Are we supposed to complete all of the assigned Amps for a specific topic the same day they are assigned? or do the need to be completed before we move on to the next subject?
For example, I completed the Property diagnostic today and it assigned me 15 or so assignments on Property (mostly Amps and MBE Real Property Questions). Is there a recommended time that we should get through these? I only ask because the calendar that was sent us earlier laying out our daily workload doesn't mention these, nor do the assignments themselves (in our online "My Assignments" page of the PSP) give any sort of recommended completion date.
I just want to make sure I'm staying on track. THANKS GUYS!

I've been using it after lectures to make sure I'm up to speed before doing practice questions. I think it's a pretty valuable asset and you can get through each category in under two hours.victortsoi wrote:what do people think of amp? useful, waste, what?

Re: BarBri Bar Review Hangout - July 2015 Exam
Hi Everyone, I'm taking the TX bar 8 years after having passed the PA and NJ bars right after law school. Needless to say, NOTHING is as fresh as it was the first time around. And unlike last time when I had my peers to ask questions to, I am doing this on my own so figured to reach out.
I had Contracts with Sokolow earlier this week, and just finished Con Law with Thai. Did anyone else think Thai was just awful? I feel like I'm now stuck re-learning Con Law from scratch, all with his confusion mixed in. Maybe I'm just in my own head. But now I worry about the quality of lecturers for the remaining subjects...
Also, what is this "Critical Pass" flash cards you guys talk about? Thanks all in advance!!
